Simple solution to public dungeon boss problem?

jaysonjsteeleub17_ESO
Why not have the public dungeon bosses spawn randomly somewhere in the dungeon after a certain point? Most of the bot campers I've seen sit in one place and are programmed to just spam aoe.

This at least would give the REAL player running through the dungeon a chance to find them first and get a hit or two in and complete the dungeon.

IMO, better than loot timers, but maybe that's just me.

Hmm. Not sure how the bots work, but this actually seems like a good solution.

Bots have killed the public dungeons. I was in three diff ones yesterday, and in EACH ONE was a group of 4 or 5 (hard to tell, they are on top of each other) bots. It was impossible to get an update from the boss, as they were hit the instant they appeared.

Current level - 33. I have never seen bots in public dungeons. I play at EU. Maybe it's just a USA problem?

Totally - good suggestion (I suggested the same thing on another thread!).

And, yeah, bots are annoying. In a dungeon today, got to the end, didn't even see the boss, but completed the second time he spawned. Well, I think he spawned. I just got completion after a flurry of bot activity, then nothing.
War, give me war, give me war.

This sounds like it could have potential but I imagine the bot owners will try to adapt. How difficult would it be to program around this? It would be good to have some people with programming experience weigh in.

As far as programming a bot around having the bosses spawn in random locations? I wouldn't think it'd be that difficult. I'm a programmer, but I don't program bots. =p But I've seen bots that will basically follow (similar to /stick in older MMOs) and attack nearby mobs. If they can manage to do this same thing from a greater distance, the bots will still be able to farm even though the boss spawns in random nearby locations. It would just take more effort to create/modify the botting program.

Right, like I said it's not a perfect solution. You can have bots running around to all the spawn locations. However, if it's truly random (and not just following a pre-set pattern) then there's a better chance for those real players who are just trying to complete the dungeon and move on.

Just have the boss untargetable for an hour after killing it successively 3 times. Would effectively kill off this form of afk bot farming...

Be kinda like how in WoW you can only do 4 dungeons within an hour. After that you're locked out for the hour.
