Unable to get into the Game Login Timeout

I'm getting constant Login timeout, when trying to enter the game. No error codes
just a delay where it tries to login then the box changes to

LOGIN ERROR
Login Timeout

Try again.

Ive closed ans restarted the patcher numerous times also the repair function but still cant get to the character select screen

I had problems getting the launcher to work. Finally it started to work, but now login timeout - I also see no communication from the developers which is massively disappointing.

I am getting the "Login Timeout" error as well, though this is occasionally replaced with an error that I "cannot connect to the server."

Update: Upon closing the game client, the launcher decided to update itself with the new patch. With this done, I had no problem logging in short of a brief wait between the login to character select.

AH well time to try again and sort this,

Thing is theres lots of people suggesting that these issues are machine specific and its a user issue, odd then that both of the machines here dont work, mines a selfbuilt desktop on Vista, Hers is an MSI laptop on win
Hers patched but she had the unknown version type problem and couldnt login via the launcher but could play by running eso.exe, mine wouldnt even patch, just said PLAY, as if there was no patch.

Gave up, copied an old backup from a usb drive and its now patching that
587.14Mb left at a throughput of 58 Kb/s so two entire days of cumalative downtime attempts to repair and now repatching an old version.

Edit, just wanted to comment on the pitiful patch speed, Ive just patched a FREE version of a utility program 7.7MB in barely a minute. Sure theres lots of variables over the Internet but sheesh.
