last time i tried to do it he was just standing there getting eaten by bloodfiends that kept dying and activating him made him say something about needing healed

It's probably because you're in a different instance than the fixed one. Go out of Northpoint, join a party and for instance do a dungeon while you're at it.
After that get out of the party and walk back into Northpoint.
Now he should respond.0 -
