Why stack stamina???

I use 2h mainly for DPS.
I am VR1 and I decided to play around with attributes a little bit.
Through out leveling I have been stacking stamina in belief that it would boost my melee damage in a substantial way compared to those without.

I found out just before EU maint that I was horribly wrong.
I reset all my points.
My gear was enchanted to half magic have stamina.

So at lot less stamina than normal due to reset on the points.
My light attacks damage went from 120 a swing to 106, hardly a dps breaking thing.
My critical charge went from 480-520 to around 450-500...
Woopie do.
Instead with just 10 points in magica (all i could test before maint) my damage of say one of my concealed weapon already went up 30 damage.

I don't know if you could make a viable build with stamina and light attacks or what not I could see the advantage at least as 2h it does not have many straight up damage abilities to spam with a massive stamina pool.
I believe at least as a night blade stacking stamina is a no go.

I am going for more burst damage in PVP and Magika seems to be the way to go =/

Stamina increases your heavy and light normal attack hits too. With enough stamina you can have much more damage from a fully charged powers attack than you can from a skill attack and not use any resource to do it. Stam gives you lots of sustainability, mag gives you lots of burst. Another thing to remember is that mag abilities will level out when they get to 50 but you can keep on improving your weapons well past level 50 from veteran content so the stam buff to the damage will also keep increasing. I have gone for just enough mag to get ambush and surprise attack from stealth in then start using powered attacks and weapon abilities if the mob isn't already dead. I might try a mag heavy build when I respect. Just depends how I find mag scaling after I reach lvl 50 in all the skills

Doesn't dodge have a fixed cost too? More stamina = more dodges. It should also be improving any stamina costing ability (if you use any) by about the same that magica improves magica costing abilities.

I am going for a two handed DK with a focus in Draconic Powers for support and Ardent Flame for some damage. I split my character to have equal magicka and stamina, since i am using the fighters guild skills against daedra and undead.

I am going for a 1-1-1 setup, till i get around 10-10-10 (magicka, health and stamina). By end game i plan on having 16-17-16 along the lines or maybe 15-19-15.

You need more health for Vet ranks, mages running two staffs should run 1-1-0 since they need no stamina at all. Melee characters should run 0-1-1.

If you rely on both class and weapon skills (except staffs), you need to balance it out, you do not want one offencive class skill dealing 400 damage and your two handed dealing 200 damage or so.

I don't know about magika. I am lv 35 DK only have 5 point in magika and 9 have only 150 less then stamina where i have 14 points.
Stamina ups the weapon skill dmg and magika you will need only for skill pool not dmg (unless you have dk mage)

But would you stick with The Tower for increased Stamina or go with like The Shadow for more critical damage? Being VR1 and not having all 45+ gear my Stamina is like 1800+ and that's all points into Stamina.

I went with a very heavy stamina build on my sword/board sorc. Some magicka for surge and bolt escape, and some health, but stacked most of my points in stamina and enchanted my gear with stamina for more blocks and skill usage.
