A guide for the totally green player!

Hello to all you seasoned MMO gamers out there! I'm totally new to this (although I've played all the Elder Scrolls games by myself so am familiar with lots of aspects of the game). It would be really good to have a guide for all of us ignoramuses(!) as to what all the abbreviations, acronyms etc mean when people are chatting, plus a basic guide to developing your character so that you don't keep getting slaughtered all the time - especially regarding what sort of level you need to be to win an end-of-quest fight and what tactics are best for the beginner - do you get my drift? I'm just finding it difficult to focus and end up doing loads of stuff - but it might just be my age(!)
