Introduction
While most tank build are generaly made with Dragonknight (so many armor spells) Due to the ridiculus numbers of possible diminishing returns to the armor stat ive considered building something more around dealing damage and self healing then increasing the armor. At first Templar sounded like the best idea but I ended up thinking that if I wanted to have both the healing and the damage id have to run the siphons of the nightblade. The vampire knight is a versatile fighter wich is able both at heavy damaging attacks and self resiliency, and if you though just because the guy use a 2h weapon he likely cant block then think again because swords and shield passive also apply to any weapon blocking the character would do not to mention his ultimate build rate way above the normal wich allows it to constantly spam his devouring swarm and heal most of the damage taken.

By principe you will deal most of your aoe damage with power extraction (or sap essence if youd rather have it heal you then gain massive damage) and carve wich will also resplenish your ultimate bar like crazy. The fun point is heavy armor can have seriously reduced ultimate cost from wearing the akaviri dragonguard set thus making the vampire Devouring swarm even easyer to cast if not nearly permanently available (ulti cost should be around 65) While half of the build emphasis on using sword and shield the 2h weaponry becomes your main weapon set the moment you start fighting in a multi target mob battle and the line between blocking with defensive and offensive sets blurr. The build editor pretends the blocks from sword and shield passive transfer to any weapon you would use so I can only guess it also means you can tank with a 2h sword if you wish to (altrought you clearly will have a small malus to your armor level due to the absence of a shield but at that point you already are likely soft capped and if your effraid of behing easy to kill theres always the option to use immovable brute or unstoppable depending on your choice to raise your armor higher)
Regardless this build both offer intense self healing as well as the armor and mitigation required to tank AND dps.
Pro
- Excellent AOE damage
- Very quick access to ultimate
- Strong sustains
- Can block most damage with both weapon set
Con
- Lacks party buffing ability this is a build centralised around itself
- Ill be honest due to vampirism you likely will take increased fire damage
Any thought on it?
