Angof Gravesinger hint?

fridgebuzz
Hi all, I've been holding my own solo. Doshia was the toughest, but I knew what I had to do, and eventually managed it. I'm pretty stumped by Angof, though.

Angof alone I could probably handle, but him + mobs of 4-5 zombies at a time is too much. Does anyone have a hint about what to do here? I must be missing something.

Thanks in advance.

(BTW level 16 Templar, mostly DPS by necessity because you can't survive this game otherwise.)

You need to do it with a group. I had one person with me to help fight Angolf. I'm a healer at level 15 and he was a tank at level 10. We both had to pull our weight fighting though. I used Resto staff and some javelin, and my partner used mostly close combat. We both died probably twice, but as long as you both don't die at the same time, you can resurrect and the bosses health won't reset.

For a short time while zomby adds are out, he is shielded and passive. 2 of the adds are also caught by NPC fro mprevious quests. So that leaves you to kill the adds in peace. Also go into the light when NPC sasy so and have some healing ready. I almsot managed to kill them before he got unshielded/active again as healer and that guy was terrible at DPS and had no Silver Arrow ready.
Use Silver Arrow (Fighter Guild, first skill) agaisnt undead is you are Stamina heavy.
The mage NPC heals you and the other NPC regualry.

I soloed it with proper level (16 with 14 or 12 gear) as Templar Healer and Nightbalde DPS. In both cases are had some selfhealf (heal staff and upgraded Dual Wield Bleed repecitively).
In the DPS case I even went to nuke angof when the third wave spawned (spawn is HP based, so he was in the "low HP" range for Dual Wield bonuses).

Hmm didn't have problems with this myself. But I was playing a 2h burst NB. Basically went in and stun locked him and got him pretty low. Killed the zombies when they spawn and avoided the red circles then finished him off. Don't recall him hitting that hard outside of the zombies and red circles, though that fight was quite a few levels ago.

Thanks for the hints. I didn't know there was an option to do it non-solo, so I might try that if I can't do it myself. I did notice sometimes he would concentrate on the NPC and give me a chance to hurt him, so I'll have to figure out what makes that happen. And I'll ignore him while he's shielded and just kill zombies. Since there are at least two NPCs in there, maybe I can lead some zombies in their direction. Cheers.

I did not know you could do it as a group. I tried at the level your suppose to play him at and got killed easily. I went back 4 or 5 levels higher and did it by myself. I had a somewhat difficult battle but was able to kill him with my dragonknight.

OK so I think this quest is bugged. I had to Burst dps him down because the npc that keeps spamming, "get to the light " is full of bs. There is no light and nothing else to do but just waylay him with damage. Did this in VR zone and it was absolutely stupid, just like the rest of the VR content. zos, please fix your quests. I don't now how many I have encountered like this in Glenumbra VR zone that is totally screwed up. I would recomend fixing before adding new content as well, like the Arena bs I am reading about.

I had no problem with this quest.

Keep moving, stay out of the red circles that appear every so often, us a food buff for your health, and starve him of support, and keep whittling down his health.

Other than that, it's the same as fighting any other enemy.

I noticed the latest patch (June 24th,2014) mentioned that a bug was fixed where the healer lady actually helps you defeat him as she's supposed to. I went back and made short work of him. So...@LadyDestiny is right, the quest was bugged (though it was obviously still possible to do it.) Thanks for the comments.

I had to abandon this quest as it is too hard. The recommended character level is 15 which is what my character is but I couldn't beat this guy. He can take you out with multiple attacks some doing as much as 500 points of health damage which pretty much takes you down in one blow not to mention all the zombies he summons. This is why ESO is an MMO. You need to team up with other players to defeat high powered boss characters like this or wait until you are like level 30 before attempting it solo. Anyways I got out of there. There is no penalty for abandoning a quest. I just wish I had done it sooner as I had a 900 gold repair bill on my armor when I got to safety LOL.

Here is an idea for the developers. Make it realistic. By that I mean give us players a fighting chance. It is unrealistic for a bad guy to be able to take you down before you can even get a chance to swing your sword. I am not talking just about this quest but the a lot of bad guys are like this. Not being able to kill bad guys is going to drive players away from the game.

@bladeandbone‌ I don't know if you can reacquire a quest after abandoning it, but if you haven't tried it since the June 24th patch you might want to try again. The NPC helps you much more than before and the fight is no longer so hard that you'll quit in frustration (this was my experience, anyway.) He still takes some time to kill (I used the Fighter's Guild Silver Bolts a lot), but the unmanageable swarms of zombies didn't kill me every time like they did before.

I finally took him out as a Level 16 Red Guard NB in the first month of play. I basically hit him with silver bolts and poison arrows until my stamina was done then keep hitting him with siphoning as well. Once his health was low enough I switch to duel wield, hit him with lotus fan to finish him. Very tough fight though lots of running around avoiding the circles. Died at least 7-8 times in that one.

I'm trying him now as my lvl 14 Sorcerer, using bow, pets and magic ranged attacks. First time I almost had him thinking they must have nerfed the boss then bam he hits with his AOE and I'm done. I'm at attempt 7 and still cant get him lol. My sorc also has 2h so going to wait until I'm 15 so I can switch see if I can take him again. I may group to take him as well. Thats really just to save time dont want to spend a couple of nights on a boss.
  • fridgebuzz
@rwelshmub17_ESO‌ Unfortunately I don't think you can group for this guy. I can't remember what level I finally whacked him, but I did wait awhile.

Stand in the yellow circles when Gabrielle casts them. I made short work of him when I realized those were there.

Second what Flashygrrl said...Stand behind the healer and use ranged attacks...bolts or shards if you got 'em. Deal with the zombies that occasionally spawn while avoiding the red circles on the floor. When the healer says "get to the light" she has just created a golden healing circle on the floor...use it, and also make sure to have lots of self healing ready to go...potions, abilities, whatever. Just keep plugging away and you will win. Just stay away from him.

I did this as a vet levl...VR2 DK. Wish you could group for Angof but unfortunately you cannot.

After getting killed several times, I went into town, repaired my armor and changed out a few pieces to increase my health...and read this forum post. Thanks contributors. Hate getting to the end of a quest only to find an unkillable boss causing me to have to come back after levelling up some.
