Game repeatedly freezes but sound loops - need to ALT+CTRL+DEL game client and reload

Hi all,
I'm in Enduum, the public dungeon in North-West Glenumbra, Daggerfall Covenant.
In the last 15 minutes my game has just frozen, but continued to loop the last audio sounds (and music) heard. I get no error message. It doesn't unfreeze after a minute, and to close the client I have to go into A+C+D and end the 'eso.exe' process, and load the game again.
This has happened 4 times in the space of 15 minutes.
Just this afternoon I updated my chipset and GPU drivers. Any thoughts? The launcher is closed whilst I play, and loaded as administrator.
I'm on Win 7 64-bit, i5 3570k processor with Radeon HD7870 GPU.
