Armor nerfed in cyrodil?!

connectedb16_ESO
OK, so I have 2 characters so i can compare.
my 42 dragonknight has 1300 armor in pve and when i enter cyrodil I have 800 armor
my 24 Nightblade has 600 armor in pve and when i enter cyrodil I have 700

So If this is correct and not just visual bugged, there is no point in playing tanks in pvp, I also die way to fast, Im used to and like being a pvp tank,

This totally ruin my pvp experience,

Turn the bolster effect off for your DK. From what I've heard, once you get to the 40s, the effect is actually worse than simply using your regular stats.

And maybe relax a bit before posting. You sound way more riled up than you should be before you've even figured out the explanation.

Because of the level scaling your armor is useless in Cyrodiil until you hit level 50.

To test this, simply go naked and look at your stats ...

You may want to explain to the person how to do that..

I don't know how; I haven't made it to the level where I'd want to consider it yet. But I imagine it's pretty simple, probably in settings.

I guess I don't know for certain (like I said, I haven't gotten there yet), but I don't understand why you're being so defensive about this. Worst case scenario: I'm wrong about your ability to cancel the buff but I've at least explained what's going on with the guy's stats.

Not defensive at all, not meaning any disrespect.

I asked you 2 questions, because i was interested in knowing how.

Then again, if you don't know if it can be done at all, and are just making it up.. then i can see why you think im being defensive.

Just checked this my self after reading the thread.

My armour in PvE is 1123 but in PvP it's 847. Not really sure what that means to be honest.

It means you're not 50 yet, so your specs, passives, armor and all that don't matter in Cyrodiil. The bolster effect gives you the same generic stats as everyone else. Pre-50, the only thing that makes you different then other players are the skills on your bar.

They said that they were going to add a way to turn off Battle Spirit which is the buff you get, but I have yet to find a way to do it.

Seems to me if they allow the buff to be turned off, then the power gap between lv 10 and lv 50 becomes greater. Is that desirable?
  • connectedb16_ESO
I think especially the armor changed so much is hurting tanks in pvp pre 50, I dont mind the "general" stats on my lower level nightblade whos dps.

They should base the boosted armor on your armor type imo.

Im now lvl 50v1 on my tank, and Its correct that I now have the armor im suppost to have.

I am Veteran 4 and I just tested this out. What you are saying isn't happening to me. In fact, my stats are exactly the same in Cyrodiil as they are outside it.....save for my health, which is getting a bolster:

Well... this explains why Veterans are seemingly so OP, then. Not that I have experienced this, but I hear a lot of people complaining about it.

I don't get why they are complaining about it. Us veteran level ppl(I'm vet 4) are taking and have taken the time to level our characters. Why should someone that hasn't put the time and work(yes leveling vet levels IS work lol), be able to enjoy the same power or survivability as those that have??

Because they went to the time and trouble to level the stats/skills/armor. The same reason you wouldn't like your stats reduced under what they are outside of pvp, is the same reason they don't like it.

Umm no they haven't. If you aren't at the same level as me, VR4, you shouldn't have the same power/skills/survivability as I do. I put in the time to level my character and am still doing it. If they don't put worth the same time and effort, why should they reap the same rewards?

I'll explain why I'm complaining about it. It is my understanding that the intent of scaling a player who is leveled below 50 is to scale them UP, so that they can have a fighting chance. As it stands right now, at level 38, I am being scaled DOWN. I don't mind whatever buff is given or whatever you earn at Veteran Rank. You deserve it & I will also deserve it when I get there. What I don't appreciate is losing 300 Spell Resistance, losing 300 Armor, losing 300 Health & 250 Magicka to be scaled "up" to level 50 in Cyrodiil. It sucks because I really no NO idea how viable my build is for PvP because when I go to Cyrodiil I'm no longer playing my build.

Obviously you missed what I was talking about. No matter really. If this is actually taking place, please post a before and after screen shot. I am NOT calling you a liar in asking for this, simply asking you for some proof. As I did not experience the same when I was pvping at lower levels. It may be a bug that has come up with one of the recent patches. If it is that, then it needs to be addressed.

Around level 40 being scaled up is a disadvantage compared to before. I have tried it out and several people from my guild can testify that as well. Best to hit veteran rank 1 thus you are not going to be scaled up/down anymore.

I was going to write out a longwinded rant about this, but I'll just say: This has ruined pvp for me, and judging by the fact that there are literally dozens of pages on this very thing, plenty of others as well. Simply awful. I can't imagine why they'd nerf the hell out of people who would hardly stand a chance against vets anyways.

No there is no way to turn off the auto scaling.

Armor is a bug they seem to not be fixing as it was reported in Feb betas.

i am level 40 and i might as well play naked. The other day i was in pvp with decayed armor about 350-400 in pve, in pvp it showed 700. I made or repaired all armor to about 950 and came back. .... Both times in pvp my armor shows 700. It also makes armor buff skills worthless, ex. for sorcerer bound armor and lighting form. (in PvE Lighting form will soft cap me alot to about 1400 armor, in Pvp it is still 700 ) .............. seems it would be more appropriate if we got say got some percentage of the difference between our pve armor and 700 armor (say if our armor is 1000 and the percentage is 30%, we could would be 800 armor) the percentage can be adjusted so vet ranks get a big advantage.

the only equaling the way the have Tried to scale it now is it gives a small buff to players 10 thru 35 .... other wise its a debuff, not an equalization.

After i learned this, the only pvp i am doing is collecting skyshards & easy quest. any attempt at fighting is futile with the bugged debuff.

To be honest i am surprised this was reported in feb and not fixed. Scaling for level has been figured out for years in games and not super hard to program or adjust. just to give everyone below 50 flat 700 armor is ridiculous.

Kinda hard to pay $15 for a mmo if u cant fight in cyridl till ur level 50 (pve would be more fun solo in my opinion, i never really enjoyed that part to being an mmo). This is really nerfed bad.
