Wifi keeps disconnecting

benbiddlecomub17_ESO
Hello,

I have two computers set up (one for me and one for my wife) and when we are both on and playing ESO the internet (cable wifi) keeps disconnecting every 10 minuets or so. When only one of us is on then it wont disconnect. Does anyone know why it does this and how to fix it?

Thank you

Do you have this same problem with say, watching netflix or hulu or is it just ESO?

Off the top of my head, a couple of potential causes would be an IP address conflict or a virus. (Viruses are kind of a catch all. They can cause all kinds of symptoms.)

It happens only when playing ESO.

Try using a wired connection to your modem if you aren't already. Not sure what you meant by "cable wifi". What model router do you have?

I have an SBG6580 Motorola. When I said cable WiFi I meant that we have cable internet and both of our computers are hooked up to internet using wireless cards. We aren't using wired connections as of yet but we may have to try that.

Same problem for me and my wife and I CANNOT connect through cable. Quite disapponting, the result is that nor me neither my wife play the game when we decide to play together and it's really frustrating. We wanted to experience this game toether but instead we have to make turns.

I think I had a similar problem years ago, can't really comment on where or what's the issue. Try downloading a fresh installation of the driver only, no added software, for your wireless, delete the old driver and any related software and reinstall the driver.

I have also notice network issues with only ESO, not GW2 or any other game I play..

If the router is disconnecting, it's a problem with the router. Sometimes things like this can be fixed with firmware updates. I'd check the manufacturer's website.

Already done and no it isn't the router disconnecting.
I tryied different wifi protocols (b,g,n,ac) and channels and with or without authentication but the problem persists:

Big freezes, I see her moving (commands she send arrive to server and server send back to my pc) but she sees me frozen (commands I send to server are recieved and come back but are not recieved by her)
    Or viceversa.

Today I try to buy a new AC wifi reciever for my wife... (she was on N) hope it helps..

I've been using one of these (D-Link DWA160 Xtreme N Dual Band USB Adapter IEEE 802.11a/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 USB 2.0 WPA2 ) to PvE on my secondary computer without issues. It connects WiFi to my cable modem from 40 or 50 feet away. My main rig is wired to the modem as PvP is a bit too laggy over the WiFi.

Can't seem to hyperlink atm. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833127247CVF
