Armor Crafting - Style - Class differences?

I know each race makes different style of armor, but i noticed that even though some people are the same race (so they say), there armor is a different color. So my question is. Is the class you those a variable in determining how the armor you craft looks? Or is it only the race style you craft it in?

I believe that the color is affected by the level and the material of the gear, not by the class.

Well, i mainly ask because if you go to the character creation screen and click on view veteran gear, when you switch between Templar and Dragonknight, the colors are obviously changed, one dark, and the other one lighter.. they both should be level 50 gear at least so. And there both heavy armor..

Racial styles are totally cosmetic. If you go to a crafting table and make a level medium jacket, look at the stats. then switch racial styles, the stats. will be the same, only the appearance will have changed. That appearance change might include coloring.

I know the other day I upgraded a level 30 bp from green to blue via crafting and it changed the colors of the bp, this was a crafted bp though.

Racial styles are just cosmetic, no other value is affected. The level of the gear affects how it looks, for example lvl 10 iron armour looks much better than lvl6, it shines more and seems more intricate. Also improving the items seems to make them look slightly different but that is not confirmed yet.

1 - It has been confirmed that class DOES affect how the armor looks. The exact same breastplate on a Sorcerer and a Dragonknight (meaning the exact same item taken off one and put on the other) will look different.

2 - Level affects how it looks too. The exact same armor will look different on a level 25 character than a level 4 character. Generally, the higher level you are the better it will look.

3 - Each race has a motif. You can craft items in the motif of a different race.

None of these things above will affect stats. They are all Cosmetic only. The following will affect stats and looks both:

4 - "improving" items will affect their looks (see my post above)

5 - Enchantments can sometimes add improvements to looks (and not just when they are actually used). I enchanted my sword on my Nord character and it looks shinier when I draw it.

In my original post, i WAS talking about COSMETIC only, so no worry's there.. but @SadisticSavior , Do you know where you found all this information? or was it just by experience?

And if i have it right, it DOESNT matter WHO crafts it, just who is wearing it?

Some of it is personal experience. The images above have been confirmed by me personally. Example:

It never matters who crafts it. If the materials/skills/motifs are all the same it will look the same.

Quality improvements will show no matter who is wearing it. It will always look better than an item without improvements.

I can confirm that there are tiers in each crafting level that look different, each class changes the colors, and quality of item changes the colors.

Like the level 14 brenton armor looks worse than the level 12. Who ever thought tan armor looker cooler and black has different taste than most people.

green lvl 26 imperial looks much worse than normal lvl 26 imperial, too learned it the hard way

Oh and white dark elf iron is copper with gold highlights and green is blue with purple highlights. But bosmer the green items have the gold trim lol

When I made a level 8 set of armor the color changed vs a level 6 set. I can test this later, but thought it was the item's level, not the character level. Interesting that the quality-tier affects it too.

Are you certain about class differences? If so, that is kind of neat.

I just spent 6 hrs trying to get my current character to level 14. I had an alt craft an Argonian style superior improved Shirk Jack... or something. I had a fine improved Gecko Jack. It was a deep and rich dark brown/black. I just knew the new gear would look even better.

Alas that was not the case. He donned the piece as I stared in awe. More of disgust, really as it was a horrid beige color. Even though it had almost double the stats, I returned to my improved level 8 dark Gecko.

I would love to control the color scheme independent of quality (of any purple+ item). as people have mentioned, sometimes it looks worse.

Since there is some confusion. Player level has nothing to do with with what any items looks like. Just if you can wear it or not.

Style changes happen on even levels, so level 0-3 would be four levels, 4-7 four levels, 8-13 six levels, and 14-15 which are the WTH levels. They look bad across the board maybe so you jump to the next level as soon as it becomes an option? Then again you have beigh pieces when you jump up to steel but the armor looks cooler. Once the game is back up I will try and get some more numbers but I've been slacking so I can only confirm what has been screenshotted past the level I am currently at.

These I can confirm look different. Also These same pieces on different classes look different. Last different quality pieces in the same range have different tints applied.
Level 1-3
Level 4-7
Level 8-13
Level 14-15

I would love to be able to tint my gear with the existing colors any way I want. More like GW2 system. As it is PVP players can pick out exactly who is in lower level gear and target them.

The types of armor do change depending on what class is wearing it. I have a Nightblade who wears heavy armor, and the trimming on the armor is green. With the same racial style and level of Heavy armor on a Dragon Knight, the trimming is black, and seems to protect a lot more than the Nightblade version. I believe the trimming on Templar is gold, not sure about Sorcerer.

edit: This is with the Bosmer style.

Enchantments also seem to affect appearance. I had a robe go from s normal minty green color to a nice dark metallic green from putting a green magika enchant on it.
