Whose genius idea was this? (Lesser Circle, Alik'r Desert)

Who in their right mind would make a public area that requires you to wait for an extensive period of time, so that a hostile NPC can summon another hostile NPC, which both are required for the completion of the elite zone? And if you interrupt said summoning NPC, the entire process is restarted, making any random idiot passerby a liability if he or she is uninformed about the process.

Well, apparently someone did, because the Lesser Circle area in the Alik'r Desert is one of those places. Either this place is bugged, or someone needs to re-evaluate their position as a game developer for creating such an idiot-vulnerable area for any player who wishes zone completion (or even just a little EXP) to go through.

It's just one encounter. Calm down, it'll get changed eventually.

There is a similar problem with the Summoner's Camp in Bangkorai. I think I must've seen at least 6-8 people start taking shots at the Summoner before he spawned his little critters (ok, maybe not so 'little'...). It makes completion a tad annoying when you get the random person rolling up and attacking while other people are standing nearby and waiting for the adds to be spawned.

Actually, there are three that I can count. Summoner's Camp, Lesser Circle, and Daedroth Larder.

So, to sum up. Not just one encounter.

And again the ability to make camps would be awesome. We could camp near the mob

But yes, i also still want to kill Staada and het summon and the summoner and his summon. But you got to move on. Eventuelly they will be fixed, and standing all day there or trying everyday won't help.

The summoner map locations have created a griefers paradise. This is absolute crap that people can knowingly waste others time, over and over again. I have a collection of choice screenshots of chat and boss aggro. This is a poke in the eye to ANYONE who looks at their maps and are only able to play during prime time. Fix this crap as it is making many players angry.

Ah ! I ran into this for first time last night . I had no idea what was going on. I saw folks attacking a mob and as I ran in I started to do the same (since that is how every other open encounter has worked so far) Then I saw the tells about griefers, idiots etc etc and I felt bad that I had just followed "usual" pattern. How was I supposed to know that there was some special sequence going on here ? Telepathy ? By design this is so out of place with other encounters that it is bound to have problems

Not telepathy. By reading the chat. Most of these locations have regular "Do not kill the summoner, he/she is not the boss" messages in chat.

Personally I think this is an interesting social experiment designed by the developers. The test here is to see if the player base can apply enough pressure on the griefers to allow the quest to proceed. Unfortunately after a week trying to do a couple of these quests, my feeling is that no, we can't stop the griefers or to put it another way.....you can't fix stupid.

With luck these quests will get adjusted.

Absolutely, I've given up on it too after 4 days, but I was drawn back continuously by the fascinating dynamics of "I got a blue drop ***hole" and other comments when I tried to inform newcomers. But it was wonderful seeing some starting a free festival of drums and lutes while others couldn't keep their hands off the itchy tigger finger. Incidentally I got a lot of good drops from the sandrippers or whatever those armadillo lizards are called on the dunes behind, for anyone on the impatient side. Including a lot of blues, ***holes.

I've been to the lesser circle almost a dozen times over the last week. Even when we keep everybody at bay the summoner has never called in the boss. We tried having one person aggro her to 50% (didn't work) and last night one player even stood there and let Stata kill him. No luck. I've heard 2nd hand "rumors" about people completing the circle but I have very serious doubts that they're true.

These camps are not really important, so I would rather they focus on real quests and other things that is more game breaking. Which is probably why it has not been fixed yet, it is just not a high priority issue.

I can always go back and do these later when they are redesigned or fixed. Nothing to really cry about, unless you have some form of OCD and can't deal with one icon on your map that is not white.

I agree. Three are more pressing issues. The conversations and group interaction around these things though can be pretty humorous so I consider it to be a "rest stop".

On top of them fixing it, they need to make the summoner here and at summoner's camp immortal until they summon the real boss.

I really really hope it's a social experiment - because it's hilarious watching every permutation of people trying to get it to work.

Worst thing is: you often won't even get the achievement if the boss is summoned properly. So it's a combination of bugs and people's idiocy.

I'm curious. Will the real boss spawn out of combat at some time, or will he only be summoned when Stadaa is being attacked?

There's a quest like that in Rivenspire where you have to wait for an npc conversation to get to a certain point to advance the quest. My wife and I must have sat there for 20 minutes waiting and watching idiots run through the area killing them every time they respawned. Very frustrating.

People miss it because hardly anyone reads every chat message, and sometimes chat messages scroll off before it can be read. Its really not very bright for someone to call out people for not knowing.

And not just that, but there was a quest in the starter area where people were screaming to not kill the summoners because you have to wait for them to summon. It was BS. The quest was broken. It wasnt about people killing too soon. It was just broken. They fixed it about a week after release.
