Having this problem as well, but seemingly only during peak times. During the day I get into Cyrodiil on both my heavy pop home and low pop guest servers fairly quickly. Sadly, I'm browsing forums atm because I'm stuck on a load screen myself.
Me and a friend are also having the same problem.
First we tried entering via group, and when that didn't work we rebooted the game and tried solo (not even in a group together) to no avail.
If anyone has suggestions, please let us know.
I get the same thing and have gone to not doing the PVP for now, instead I am just leveling and working on getting through the PVE Content. Now level 25 doing that.
I was disappointed three nights in a row all I get is the loading splash screen for the Scenario that starts with a B (for get the name). Our guild decided on using that one during the early access period and now I wish we wouldn't have.
I thought that allowing 2000 players per server was aggressive. This may be confirming my suspicion. If people can not get into the PVP and there isn't much for an end game I would suspect this will be a short lived experiment.
Personally I think locking people into a campaign at this point for 30 days is too long. We knew, beta testers knew, there would be a number of bugs to get worked out. This is one of them, we should be allowed during the first couple months to change our home while the "real" population limits are figured out.
I would say the target (if devs read this) for the connection is what the Guildwars 2 Team was able to achieve. You log in hit your join the pvp combat may have to wait in a queue for a bit then a message pops up on your UI saying you are ready to go. Loading into the zone takes a couple seconds (assuming user has an ssd drive).
Note the message pops up on the UI, the sound ding to tell you your spot is up is not a good working solution. Some do not play with the sound on because of family in the room and what not. I end up having to have the window open waiting.
