Help with 2h DK build

I have a Norn 2h DK and I would appreciate any help. I want to go DPS with it with some survivability as my wife is playing a sorc with it. Appreciate any advice.

Use the DP or EH trees.

Under DP, you can lock things down in place with the talons, which is perfect for aiming sorc AOE abilities.

In EH, Ash cloud will slow them down for a few seconds, which helps sorcs get range a bit easier. Shattering Rocks will also halt them (but it can break on dam).

Actually if you have just started I would suggest putting a point in every tree as well as the additionaly weapon you wish to use (i.e. when I started I had my first 3 points in each DK set, then the 4th point I put into Bow and the 5th point I got Charge. This allows you to level up ability rows at the start which makes a massive difference). You dont need to specialise until you hit around level 10-15 and by that stage you will have unlocked skills that allow you to mix and match.

I would suggest green dragon blood for the instant heal but thats a level 20 skill. Dark Talons upgraded to burning talons and fiery breath upgraded to burning breath is a very nice aoe move for packs of enemies.

For 2h I love the charge upgraded to stampede followed up by uppercut upgraded to wrecking blow. I personally have no use for the other skills as stamina is needed for dodging, stun breaking, and sprinting.

Thanks for the help guys. Any suggestions on how my wife should spec her Sorc knowing it is going to always duo with my DK?

Sorry Im not sure about Sorc as I didnt play one. I would suggest for you to have a look at tamriel foundry as they post builds for different classes and the people are super helpful. It might give you some ideas on how you guys would like to build your classes.

Again I would suggest to put a point in every tree so by the time you get to level 10-15 you can have real choice on how you build your character. (if you need to bump a tree up quickly put multiple abilities from that tree into the action bar).

Sorry I forgot to mention that you need a skill from each tree on your action bar. This will allow the trees to gain levels.

I am currently at level 21 with a Nord DK, going 2H DPS as well..

I started of with a point in Razor Armor and Fiery Grip (Fiery grip is good if your mage tends to get alot of aggro from the Mobs.), Then getting Cleave from 2 handed, Anyway an advice from me that i actually should have done in the starter levels was to get the first skill from Earthern Heart, as it is a good Stun and Knockback.

What level is your DK at the moment?

alright, well then go for the fiery grip and stonefist, and cleave from the 2-hand skill tree, and the razor armor if you're strugling with keeping yourself alive while tanking for the wife. , just a piece of advice not commands..

Nord is unusual choice for DK, the class skills do not synergize with 2h well. Templar on the other hand has Aedric Spear line that helps 2h. Draconic Power has Dragon Blood that can morph into Green Dragon Blood, but beyond that it does not bring many skills to the table.
