Please explain this - group dungeons

So I was going through my youtube subscriptions today and I saw this video on ESO force strategy uploaded.

Please explain this, because I honestly find this really really surprising, why is there no roll system? Why don't players get placed outside of the instance when booted? Why are chests the primary source of dungeon loot?

Has the Devs not considered the kind of social problems that exist in MMOs? The above mentioned roll system was designed to remedy loot dispute, the problem is so big that blizzard had to implement a system of individual loot for their LFR, where players rolled against the game rather than other players.

I haven't started doing dungeons yet, but this is really discouraging.

    Yeaht it's pretty bad, i personally hate those damned chests with a passion.
    The loot issues aside it slows down the dungeon run and can get really irritating when the tank runs around and looks/snags all the chests instead of progressing.

    It's just annoying for the 3 people who didn't get the chests and promotes competition within the group instead of co-operation, and with random strangers on the internet,things can get pretty ugly. Personally, PvP is where i like my competion to stay, i prefer my PvE to be more laidback.

    I really see no upsides with how things are now.

    I totaly agree on the loot system in dungoens fails badly when it comes to chests all grops i bin in the healer or the tank has manage to hog all of them i get soul gem from bosses nothing else its a fail and when you think about it you do that di-ungeon 1 time only to get that skillpoint and after that why bother you wont get anything anyway .
    All ather mmo i have playd were ther are chests and so on players usaly roll but here its omg 1 person takes all and then that same person QQ about you took a heavy sack .
    For me i just dont enjoy them at all its waste of time when the lootsystem is like that
    I hope they fix this add the loot on the bosses and remove all the chests .

    IMHO is the people who must to solve their social problems, not the devs. And this game invite to do that.

    I always go to dungeos with my guild because I know so well those problems with the loot :)

    It gets better, the monsters inside the 4 man dungeons give virtually no exp (3-5 exp). Seriously, they made an mmo where the group content doesn't let you progress.

    All the public dungeons are overrun (gee I wonder why...), there's really not much to do as a group in PvE.

    Group play in ESO is bad.

    As it stands now, the Dungeon system in ESO is really broken. Then again, their previous titles have been single player games so what can you expect, I guess. hopefully fixes are to come.

    In other MMO titles I've always preferred to level by grinding the group dungeons, kill elite trash mobs and farm the bosses for loot, and quest on "spare time". In ESO it is rather the other way around with sucky XP/loot from dungeons and rather overpowered XP from quest completions.

    I find the chests in group run's kind of fun. Granted all 4 of us are in the same vent, but the inner competition to get to the chest first is humorous.

    I actually don't mind it, the game itself does not seem to be designed solely around entering dungeons and getting loot. Everyone is comparing to other MMO's now consider this. Those other MMO's have an entire world just like this one and yet most of your time is spent in one dungeon or the next. This game is designed for you to experience the world that they have created as well as enjoy some group based content. I believe the dungeons are designed more for an immersion based group play than to spam them for better loot.

    As for the chests most of the time I run with friends/family so we usually just find what we can and share it if its no good for our own character but I don't see it to be a massive problem to do a chest search AFTER pulling the next pack/room of enemies some people with get luckier than others for sure but its no different to loot drops from bosses to be honest.

    Personally I think the amount of chests need to be reduced. You'll get randoms that just run for the chests while the group is mid-fight. Maybe impose a chest loot limit per player? Or offer 5 "dungeon lock picks" to each player at the beginning of each dungeon which resets upon completion. Ideas?

    Just make chests lootable by every member of the group instead of 1 player getting everything.
