Hey all. So while playing ESO, it seems like at pretty much whatever settings I choose in-game or for my graphics card, the game goes through periods of "hiccups" where for 5-30 seconds the fps will drop really low, like to 0.5-3 fps per second. Then, it will spontaneously return to normal 50+ fps. These hiccups can happen randomly, but they tend to happen the most when I am around a lot of buildings. It does not seem to be tied to the amount of people that are in the area, because I can play most of PVP fine. However, if I go into a town or castle, I will tend to get hiccups. I have a gaming rig with an AMD 7850 that should be able to run it on high at very good fps (i checked). Therefore, I think something else is going on with my game/pc. It almost seems like the game is trying to "load" the scenery and that is why it is hiccuping, because it goes through these spontaneous drops in FPS as opposed to an overall low fps that would be a characteristic of a weak video card or CPU. So, can anyone help me with this? My laptop has a comparable Nvidia card and it seems to be able to run it fine, most of the time. Is is just a problem with AMD cards? Is it a problem with my PC? Is it a problem with the game? Thanks, let me know if you guys have any questions about my problem or my PC and I will answer them.
