Regarding the outdated attribute‑point system

shivalingax
To this day, it still only grants Stamina, Magicka and HP. Perhaps we should add more attribute points alongside more build‑oriented options, such as Armor, Penetration, Movement Speed, Slow Resistance, Weapon Damage, Block, and so on.

    No
(Math before coffee, except after 3, is not for me)

No, I like it how it is, and it keeps it more in line with other Elder Scrolls games. Besides, it's balanced so the number of attribute points you get works with three options, and even there you have to carefully consider where to put them. They'd be spread far too thin with more options, and we already have CP for more build oriented choices.

It's fine the way it is. You want base stats to be simple, clear, and the foundation for everything else. Too many base stats is actually more confusing for new players. On the other hand, the trifecta of the red, blue, and green bars are common enough across multiple games that they are instantly recognisable for what they are to new players.

Practically speaking, I don't think what OP is suggesting could be done at this point anyway - it would require a major overhaul of the underlying code, and would be an absolutely massive undertaking.

CP already allows for this sort of further build customization, without throwing it at a brand new player on day one. There's no reason for them to change core, foundational systems that have been fine for 11 years; beyond the issue of having to overhaul ancient spaghetti code, this would likely require major rebalancing in many other areas.

I would rather see them add some new options to the CP system (something they said they would do over time after the CP refresh, but have not really followed through with other than a few early additions).

No. The current system is easy enough to get into, with plenty of room for build expansion at higher levels through CP. Leave the over-complicated “level-all-the-things-stats-math-spreadsheet-simulator” stuff to the MMOs that actually excel at it.

Interestingly enough, ESO has added attribute points for Armor, Penetration, Movement Speed, Slow Resistance, Weapon Damage, Block and so on - by PROVIDING set items, potions, enchantments, etc all fully customizable.
