[PC/PvP] Stamina NB (480CP) vs Stamina Sorc — need current PvP build/guide recommendations

Hey everyone,

coming back after about a 3-year break, and I'm trying to figure out which class to commit to for PvP going forward. My main is a Stamina Nightblade sitting at 480 CP, but I've also started a fresh Stamina Sorcerer.

The problem: I jumped into a few Battlegrounds on my NB and got absolutely deleted, like 1-2 seconds and I'm dead, no idea what even hit me. Not sure if that's outdated gear, outdated build knowledge, or just the current state of the class.

My focus is PvP — Battlegrounds and Cyrodiil (both Vengeance and Grey Host). Weapon-wise, I really enjoy bow and dual wield. I'll use a staff if the build genuinely needs it, but I'd rather avoid it. Two-handed isn't really my thing either. DK and Werewolf are off the table, not my playstyle.

Would love any current (2026, ideally post-Update 50) build guides or videos for either Stamina NB or Stamina Sorc — whichever you think is in the better spot right now for someone getting back into PvP without a top-tier CP/gear grind.

(Guides that actually show where to get each piece — which vendor, which zone, which drop/craft — would help me the most. A lot of the guides I've found just list the sets without saying where to farm them, and after 3 years away I honestly don't remember half of it anymore.)

Any links, advice, or "here's what actually works right now" would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Of the two, pure Sorcs def have an easier time in PvP currently. Here is a DW/Bow Negate bomber sorc that I've been enjoying: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=587744 - even outside of bombing the offensive power is decent. It is somewhat of a squishy build so stay mobile and utilize hit-and-run tactics. For META Sorc builds check out Eman, Static Wave, AnimeBoopz or Sekaar on YT.

Pure Nightblades struggle a bit more lately, but they can be effective. My friends and I have been using a ranged magblade setup using Soulcleaver. Similar to this: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=580195 - keep in mind that Soulcleaver's extra 12% bonus to all damage done is not reflected in the ability tooltips. It's also kind of a squishy build so def use movement and range to stay alive. Not a lot of content creators making NB build videos right now tbh.

This will happen on any class. Make sure you have a minimum of 30k health. Keep your buffs active. Maintain map awareness and good positioning and you will see improvement in this area. Also keep in mind that matchmaking is not perfect and there will be some imbalanced fights sometimes.

It is reflected in the tooltip as soon as you enter combat and the buff is running.

Yeah, you sound like me cause thats how I played NB for many years.

Ok so here's the thing. Somehow, somewhere in there, there are sets out now, passives and other things that stretch damage to an obscene level. In other words, NB are really kind of reactionary, yet there is no longer much time to react. You're dead. There are so many damage builds and the practice in PvP has shifted from fights to kills. In other words, you know like bombers and such? well there are some bombers out there are so strong they can 1 shot a 1v1. Its true.

Changes have been made, to where a NB no longer has practical leverage from a traditional application of skill. Ergo you can try to cloak but its obsolete to any experienced PvP, not even the best. Invsi pots can see far. Alot of changes like that have reduced the NBs stomping grounds, which have largely been replaced by things like Sorcs and Wardens and now DKs and WWs are finally making a comeback, things like that.

So, in my opinion. Your first problem is your build and the second is your approach. I know, you don't want to hear that. I get it because it was hard for me to accept but its real. Players who might fall to your build will probably fall regardless. If you want to get back into things, you're going to need to take a break, go watch places like YouTube and so forth, watch the fighting in PvP and see what you're up against.

Good luck but you might not like everything you find out there.

Thank you so much for the build suggestion. Unfortunately, the link you shared doesn't show any champion points. Thanks again anyway!

Absolutely don´t go for Nb, it´s extremely weak compared to the other classes. Stamsorc on the other hand is pretty good. I´d highly recommend Decimus´ builds, they´re always well thought through and tested. And to see the sources of sets you definitely should get the addon "Item Set Broswer". You can search for any item set there and see where to get it.
