Crafting Material Loot - Non Dominion race drops?

I am currently playing as a redguard, but as part of the Aldmeri Dominion.

When I am looting, I am finding a whole load of crafting racial materials such as bone/ademantite/moonstone but no starmetal which i am having to buy!

I get that these are the mats for the dominion races, but come one! Why let people have the "bonus" of using other races in any alliance if the drops wont include their crafting materials!

Or am I just being unlucky with loot drops so far?

You seem to be unlucky. I've noticed them drop outside of alliance races. Especially bone for some reason. Bone drops all over the place on all of my characters, no matter which of the three alliances they are in.

You have just been unlucky, i guess. I have a wood elf and a high elf and I have picked up a lot of starmetal and materials from most of the other races.

I'm rolling up as an Argonian in AD the first motif I found was Redguard and I find lots of star metal as well. Admittedly not as much as I do find for the three main races. So ya, you're just unlucky.
