I think we been using the necromancer class wrong

After looking at the skills of the necromancer we have been using it as a summoner while we should of been using it as a dark arts of deaths user. Think about it. If you ran Venomous skulls as only for its proc, sacrificial offering to boost it, and used the scythe as its spammable, its mage/archer as a side damage + boost, and used corpses as a passive side thing to combo with either graveyard and siphon as an extra after a combo. Its more of a proc combo but instead of afew abilities its with all of them or am I wrong on this?
