2027: Winterhold (Mythics)

Hi Everyone, short little post today.

I'm super excited that Winterhold seems to be the next major zone coming to ESO. If i had 1 request it would be the inclusion of a mythic item for specifically frost damage dealers themed around snow elves!

I think the most interesting types of mythics are ones for made for specific playstyles and i'd love to see one that is very strong for dps builds that build around using a lot of frost damage abilities and/or the ice staff.

and before anyone mentions it, the shattered path's mythic is pretty incredible for frost warden which is true, though the mythic is specifically for status effects which incentivises building just just for frost but also bleed, poison and flame damage as well as some additional shock, physical, magic and disease damage where you can make room for it, not specifically stacking frost damage abilities/item sets/weapons.

So calling it a 'major zone' or thinking about it as something like a chapter or Q4 zone will get people majorly disappointed. These showcase streams are written out well in advance and every word choice is deliberate and thought out by a whole marketing team.

As for your question: I would love sets, mytics, dungeons, delves, main story and incursions in the new zone. Will we get it?...we will probably know Q1 2027, but so far I am very cautious.

Well it is the next major zone because we arent getting one this year.

Sorry OP, tangential, but thanks for pointing this out licenturion. I remember hearing "excursion zone" and wondering what that means, specifically.

Since then I've seen some other posts by players suggesting that it may be another temporary zone like Night Market and the sea-battle-whatever is coming this summer. Exploring the permanent overland locations in Tamriel and seeing TES lore fleshed out with awesome world-building has always been one of my favorite parts of ESO, so I'm not very excited about these combat-centric group-zones and puzzle-dungeon things.

Similar to Bastion Nymics, IA, and the looks of that new Vault thing. I'm glad the audience those serve is having fun, but I hope that's not going to be everything.

I wish we'd get Winter(hold) themed content and an ice magic theme/focus on combat to go with it. It would give the game some much needed fresh air. Very fresh air. 😉

In this regard, I have had an idea for a long time and that is turning light and heavy attack damage into another damage type by equipment choice. And a mythic would do that splendidly.
