Disappointing (Bg's)

Here I was, holding out hope that the promised return of three team battlegrounds would coincide with the introduction of Seasons and the launch of Season Zero. But nope. Instead, the April roadmap shows a two team Domination event. The return of three team was revealed in JANUARY. JANUARY! Cool cool, four months, I can wait four months, cuz OBVIOUSLY a new (returning) feature will roll with all the other new features. Right? RIGHT??? What in the actual ****. Seriously, how long do we have to wait? I'm already hanging on to this game by my fingertips. The ONLY THING keeping my here was the promise of the reintroduction of 4v4v4. So what gives? How many more months do we have to wait for something we were told we were going to get in JANUARY?

ZOS said that BG events post-u49 will be 3-team BGs. In the roadmap it lists a Domination weekend, but I've not seen them confirm whether it is 2 or 3-team BGs (if you have seen them specifically say it will be one or the other let me know).

Would be great if someone at ZOS could confirm whether they will be sticking to their word regarding the return of 3-team BGs or not.

Domination Weekend Mini Event (April 22–April 29)
Enjoy a 25% bonus to Alliance Points gained as you compete for supremacy during the Domination Battlegrounds weekend mini event!

Link to Aprils survival guide, blurb re: bg event from said guide. You're right, it doesn't specify two or three team. One would think, given a whole years worth of feedback regarding bringing three team back, that when they did, they would advertise it. So I'm guessing, given there's been zero reason to think otherwise, its a two team event. Would be nice to be wrong tho.

Did you not read? There's was initially no guarantee or promise made.

"The traditional 4v4v4 game mode will no longer be available for queues; however, it may return in the future for limited times during special mini-PvP events. This new two-sided format also includes seven brand-new maps to battle your fellow players within."

Ever since the advent of 8v8/4v4 there was never any promise. You’re frustrated, which is fair but this isn’t something ZOS actually promised on a timeline. That's your fault for believing that out of your own hope to see something change that you wanted to see changed. Back in January they said 3-team BGs may return, likely in limited-time events. Not as a permanent feature. Not tied it to Seasons, April, or any specific update. That wasn’t a rollout announcement. It was basically “we’re exploring bringing it back.”

So the April roadmap not including 4v4v4 isn’t them delaying a promised feature. It’s consistent with what they’ve said the whole time. There's a communication issue, sure, but not a missed deadline.

Right now 4v4v4 is clearly in test it via events and see if it sticks, not core mode returning on schedule. And personally speaking? 4v4v4 was horrible. Would not want to see it come back. It just exacerbates the negative effects of certain playstyles and lack of role-based queues that already exist in the game.

Maybe what we need is less negativity towards each other based on our preferences and more comradery that the community, as small as it is, is getting something a lot of us want... perhaps?

It's cool that you prefer 2 teams. You should be able to enjoy that. Chrisilis and those of us that prefer 3 teams should be able to enjoy that and you not supporting that doesnt help anyone.

Just about every bg sweat became a bg sweat in 3 teams. So we must have all enjoyed them on some level. That shouldnt be a point of contention on these boards but that's all I see.

Let's spare calling it vitriol. I find it particularly annoying that someone made a post complaining that the devs didn't "deliver on a promise" that they never actually made.

My tone has nothing to do with my preference of game mode. It has everything to do with coming on forums and pitching a fit over not getting what OP wants and then having the audacity to claim that they promised OP that we would get what OP said they want. I understand you think this is about my game mode preference, but you're wrong.

So let's try not to deflect from the fact that OP is in fact wrongly remembering things and outraged over a promise they never got and that your neat theory about my tone has nothing to do with that at all.

Maybe I should change my name from Sarah to Seth so maybe I won't get tone policed on forums.

Was there a promise made, yes or no? If not, then there’s nothing to be delayed. Posts like OPs that frame something as a broken promise when it wasn’t are exactly what create unnecessary frustration and animosity among the player base. Let's get some discernment. And stop framing my asking for some discernment as being "not nice." Or whatever.

I read. Do you? The article you've linked is from update 44 published on 9/10/24. And you're correct insofar as that article goes, that three team might be back as events (it never was, not once).

This post however is referencing the ESO live stream from January 2026, where the ESO devs specifically said three team is being reintroduced. And my, apparently incorrect assumption, that it would coincide with other new features such as Seosons. My had for assuming that they would, you know, do a thing they said they were going to do.

One would think, if one were the type to read, that this post was written about information we received in January of this year and not September of 2024.

I read.

I read and listen. During the Jan 2026 livestream, they mentioned bringing back 3-sided Battlegrounds, at the beginning only during weekends but if received positively they’d be brought back more often and potentially made permanent. They never said it was guaranteed, let alone make a showcase IN JANAUARY. LOL. It's POST-U49. That could be U50, 51, 52, 60, 75. We don't know. Why would it have been this January?

Deflecting from the fact that you are also wrongly characterizing the Jan 2026 livestream by pointing out the original U44 summary is older. It doesn't change the fact that you are wrong in assuming that you were promised 4v4v4 in January. You never were.

Your OP is one giant rage bait based on ignorance.
