Well, that is just pitiful. Not sure who thought this was a good idea considering multiple posts on the forums where people were asking for more sources of tripots (means players actually have use for them).

This community is so weird sometimes :D

"Daily log in rewards are garbage!" gets followed with "I actually don't mind they're garbage, it means I don't have to log in every day!"

Then when we have actually decent stuff put in, like a costume, crates or a bunch of tri-pots, we get "Thanks ZOS for the good rewards this month!" then you get people who're like "This is just more FOMO. I don't want to be forced to log in every day!!1!""

Stop giving out stuff that doesn't benefit anyone except the newest of players.

It's a pity none of these items are tradeable. I have so many I don't need right now (and might not ever need in the future - like all those riding and research things), so if it was possible, I'd really like to just give them away or sell them for a low price to people who need them.

I would like to apologize to everyone for the January daily rewards. A couple months ago I claimed that month was the worst daily login rewards ever. I didn't realize ZOS would view that as a challenge to make a worse one, mea culpa.

I actually like getting the research scrolls. Research takes months even with them, and I always have 4 crafters at varying levels of research completion going at any given time. Whenever one crafter queues their final trait research, the next zero research alt enters the assembly line to take their place.

[Edit] That being said.. The quantity of research scrolls suffered a whack from the nerf bat as well.

I think Golden Pursuits now get some of the cosmetic rewards that daily rewards used to. Personally, I don't mind if they place the incentives wherever they attract the most players. But a Crate every now and then would sure be nice, even one of the old Crates.

    This is just...mystifying.

We all just got done reading end of year communication that said they understood and agreed that rewards need improvement this year.

And then, the first rewards of the year are the most low-key bland stuff I've ever seen from this feature.

This was a simple, easy, no-brainer opportunity to spice things up, even just a little bit, at no hard cost or significant time/resource investment.

It could have been as simple as "Our favorite Crown Crates from 2025" with a different (not currently on sale) 1x Crate on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. Maybe go crazy and do 2 on the 28th. Or a different luxury furnishing from 2025 at the end of each week. It doesn't have to be a house or a DLC.

Yes, I know these are "free" rewards. And I know I can delete them (and I do). But it also feels like the first whiffed opportunity of 2026 when we're all crossing our fingers for 1/7.

The whole point of login rewards is to encourage logins. Encourage the chase of later-in-the-month shinies. This does not accomplish that. At all.

    ...sigh...

They don't care about the community and I don't think they have for a long time now - they want to sell content only and not be accountable in any other way. It does not surprise me - this is the standard behavior in the corporate world these days - no accountability and could care less what feedback there is. Suckers like you and me that buy content to play fund their bonuses while they lay off developers that could be improving the game for the players.....

It's not just the tri-pots . A number of the items seem to have seen a noticable reduction in quantity. Enough so that it has to be intentional. The reason for it? <shrug>

[edit] Upon reflection.. the Attribute and Skill respec scrolls are 5x their normal rate. Almost as if they think we'll have a use for them sometime soon.

Haven't changed my attributes in eleven years...

For me this boils down to "If you're gonna do it, do it right".

The goal of a daily rewards system is to increase logins and drive metrics up. It's painfully clear that months like this will not drive logins. Who's going to go out of their way to log in 20+ days for 4 Rosin or 2,000 gold?

It doesn't have to be crazy valuable stuff, either. And old crown crate, maybe an exclusive skill style, a cute pet. Some LuxFurn from 6 months ago.

I'm just spitballing but what if Day #21 were an icon of a ticket and clicking it enters me into a drawing to win 10,000 crowns?

If this feature has outlived its usefulness, put it out of it's misery and direct folks to pursuits and endeavors because I think this is worse than not doing it at all. I think a large amount of people are going to look at that calendar and feel very underwhelmed.

And to do a month like this weeks after saying they know we want better in-game rewards and they agree (!) feels really tone-deaf. This was an opportunity for quick, low effort "See we're listening!" and they passed on it. Weird.

The login rewards are a means of customer retention, a small sign of appreciation similar to the "free" fortune cookie when eating chinese or the "free" shot of Ouzo in the greek restaurant. Even if you don't drink alcohol and aren't a fan of crisp cookies or armchair philosophy, you appreciate the gesture and keep them in mind for the next time you're going to eat out.

Here, it is something to make you log in daily, in the hope that you stay a bit to do the endeavours as well and maybe even stay a bit more and either be content for (prospective) paying customers or buy something yourself (like, say, a sub so you have bank space for your free potions). Hence, unappealing login rewards are a failure of the publicity department.

Yes yes, I know it's for free.

Only it's not really, is it? It eats up a moment of my time when I log in each day. It's a thing on my screen demanding my attention. These are meant to be nice little incentives that make us feel appreciated and make us want to log in, not that make us feel like our time is being used up for no reason - and it's not just the time to click through and accept but the time to then work out what to do with this inventory clutter as well. Once you hit this point, the log in "rewards" make the moment after log in feel like a little chore to be dealt with and it delays you from getting into doing whatever you logged in to actually do.

I don't mind if zos doesn't want to give us big shiny gifts. I don't feel entitled. But how about an option to just not have the alert? I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to ask for.

The Attribute and Skill respec scrolls did see a 5X increase from normal. Almost as if ZOS predicts we'll need them sometime soon...

Indeed, this reminds me of when most games have a stash of health restoratives and ammo right before the big boss fight. Anytime I see this sort of cache and a big room ahead, well, Captain Obvious has no trouble figuring out what comes next.

Couple this with the huge class changes they're planning (even if the cadence will be slow), and I'd say we'd better be at the very least concerned, and at the most panicked (but NOT surprised). lol

I wish if they were going to keep giving these out that they’d make them a currency. For my last character I purposefully avoided using the stables so I could continue to eat up as many free riding upgrades as possible and keep the inventory slots open - they’re in that frustrating zone where they’re too useful to destroy in case I want/need them later, but they only actually can be used very rarely.

Nice, will last one boss in a trial perhaps :disappointed:

5 tri pots does look a bit miserable, but otherwise I don't mind the lack of fomo rewards. It'd be nice to have one or two nice rewards a month so there's actually a reason to look at them, but I don't want to be super obsessed with doing all the ESO chores and dailies in ESO and fretting whenever I miss a daily reward.

I'd love to be able to at least recycle or trade in the unwanted poisons for gems or something though. I feel bad just destroying stacks, but I never use them. Even if we could just swap for something we did use I'd be happy. I don't just wanna be rich trading in poison for gems, just have stuff in inventory that I use :D

The rewards need to improve week by week to something rare or special in the last week.

If nothing else, it shows loyalty to the game that players logged in every day.

There used to be more valuable rewards towards the end of the monthly track. But the moment players missed a day or two and realized they could miss out on the big prize... out came the torches and pitchforks. For what it's worth, I understand where you're coming from as I'm of a similar opinion on the matter.

Let me point out something to you.

Yes ofc, it's free stuff. We shouldnt complain.
But as a veteran player this is crap.

Not so long ago, around the 3rd week there was always some notable daily reward ("disguise" type or even better). But the quality of the daily reward of the 3rd week is more and more lousy, worse and worse every month I have the impression.
The daily reward of the 3rd week requires you to log in at least 20 days per month, is that still good motivation? Why don't we even have that anymore?

i remember when there was at LEAST one daily reward that would make me login every single day as not to miss it. If i couldn't, i'd have a friend pop over to login for me.

But the last few/several months... nothing. It's been abysmal. i thought new year, maybe there should be something fun to get the new year rolling... like that house guest chick who is the bar wench server... bring her back.. but NOPE.. nothing.

    So sad.

The daily rewards continue along the lines of the rest of the game of turning everything into a daily chore. Log in, collect daily garbage, mark as junk, do daily writs, do daily dungeon, do daily quests, destroy junk, log out and go play something else until some actual new content drops.

5 tri-pots isn't a reward, it's just a sample. And an insulting one at that. At the point where daily login "rewards" become nothing more than an inventory management daily chore, I think it's better to just avoid the entire thing altogether and not log in.
