Are previously collected fragments now useless? There is no way to turn them in now at Rampart Camp.

Nick specifically said that they were not able to extend the event in the letter he posted last week.
There was never a chance that the Pursuit was going to end at the same time as the wall. If every server was still on their own schedule (which they would have been if they didn't speedrun through right after U48 dropped on console), then there would still be some servers that would finish before the Pursuit, and others that the Pursuit would finish before they did.1
