[ToT] Weird coincidence

I've experienced something very weird at least 3 times now: when matched against a certain player, I get a long delay at the start of the game. I see the game board with the initial score 0:0 and the screen stays like this for an abnormally long period of time (no choice of patrons, no way to see who I'm going to play against). Then, after this strange delay, I see that it's that player and they are choosing their patrons. I'm not going to spin conspiracies here, just asking if someone has experienced something like this.

I have not seen anything like that, but then I very rarely play matches against other players. It does sound odd, though. Does it ever happen in matches against different players? Does it happen in every match against this one player?

So far only against this player I think. But I have too small of a sample of such weird delays (even though I play only against other players). But the last time it happened I thought to myself "Is it this player again?", and it was.

And it happened again. Same delay, same player. Interesting thing is that the delay happens if they have the first turn. If I have the first turn against them, there is no delay for me.
