Invisibility mechanics changed in the last year or so, right?

I took a 6 month break that ended this last summer 2025. And I noticed invisibility mechanics have changed. I usually enjoy figuring things out on my own, but I'm not quite getting how it works now after all these months.

I searched every update release notes going back to 2024, and I failed to find the details.

Also, I noticed the Nightblade Shadowy Disguise skill has changed. While that change is relevant and closely related, I am *also* talking about potion invisibility, too. I do not play Vampires for roll-play reasons, but I assume the same thing applies to them.

Here is what I was used to before the change. I will describe in scenario format:

Old way: I'm in Cyrodiil. I'm getting hammered by other players. I press the button to engage Nightblade Shadowy Disguise OR I tap the button to drink an invisibility potion, and I am suddenly safe from all direct attacks unless 1) I am also affected by an attack that has that special ability to reveal me OR 2) I am in the radius of some detection ability. Most of the time, I am safe, and I slink away to heal for bit undetected. If I am fully invisible I can tell with visual cues (transparency and different stance). If my invisibility is undone by an enemy, then I can tell from visual cues (no transparency, regular stance).

The new way, there are a few differences.

One, either there are a lot more attacks that prevent invisibility or a lot more people are running around with detection powers, or invisibility is not as reliable as it used to be. I have not been able to figure it out thru regular playing. I have not researched this with a willing opponent doing experiments. In any case, this emergency activation of invisibility fails 50 to 75 percent of the time.

Two, I am clearly getting clobbered and hit when I simultaneously see some indicator that I should (might) be invisible. But, funny enough, it seems to be a new state, where I am less transparent but not solid either, and, in the case of Nightblades Shadowy Cloak, I am burning resources with the toggle on but I am also not invisible either. Like, wowzers, the best I can explain how it feels like is falling into the lava crevices in Chorrol.

So, what is going on?

My current guess is, there is a new cancellation of invisibility condition, and it is: if you get hit at all by anything 1 or 2 seconds before going invisible, then your invisibly is cancelled when you attempt it. I am not sure what the visual cues are trying to tell me tho, other than, "LOL, screw you, pal."

They recently made it so that a number of abilities you can cast prevent you from stealthing whilst they are active. E.g. Warden Shalks, Scribing Banner etc. Also a lot of abilities can take you out of stealth when you cast them too.

Its overall very buggy and poorly communicated to players in combat.
