Yes, we were oh so naughty to try to port to Sunport from the world map and somehow find ourselves in Eastern Solstice due to a bug.
Don't put this on us mate! Don't be insulting or condescending to us because your devs messed up.

Insulting your player base, and blaming them for accidentally finding themselves somewhere they shouldn't be is unacceptable.
Do better and give your players the respect they deserve.

Tongue and cheek yet tone-deaf considering it seemingly was discovered on accident (later intentionally done), and likely not remedied prior due to a lacking of QA testing/improper rollout. Naughty naughty....

As others have have already said I too read it as a light-hearted, humorous comment.

Things hit different people in different ways, and expressing a different viewpoint, on a FORUM intended for that purpose, seems to be rather reasonable, whether you agree or not.

Some players find a way to get past the wall, and the developers fix it from one day to the next.
Yet the game’s DPS is all screwed, the classes are all messed up, and the state of the game is a total disgrace… and no one can do anything to fix this? Lol. I see… I see…

Blaming and punishing players for their own fails is the common ZOS strategy.

Do you remember how they transfered pts characters on to live servers and then blamed and banned players for that?

The notes read as humorous to me, but I can't say I like the decision to fix the situation by closing access - they should have rather opened it for everyone. I really don't want to wait another 18 days or so gain access to a zone that's already playable, from what people who had been on the other side reported. It doesn't motivate me to participate in the wall event, it makes we want to reduce my ESO time to a minimum and check back again in 3 weeks whether the content can be played properly then.

A bug in the game causes teleportation to a player located at Solstice but near the wall, resulting in a landing at a shrine on the other side of the wall (actually the one closest to the player). This is not the players' fault.

    well,
    apologies are welcome Gina

I mean...look, I'll be the first to call out something I think is bad from anyone. I have no issues calling out a CM. Things are bad right now in a lot of feelings in the community towards Zos and the game. But lets call a spade a spade. I think they were just trying to be funny. Your milage may vary.

I am with @Syldras though. The wall event is kind of a bust. Just call an audible and open the other side.

For today though, I'm gonna put aside anger at the direction of the game. I'm gonna go play in Tamriel with my friends and be glad it's still here for the foreseeable future. Events in the mmo space yesterday, the worst possible thing to happen, make me grateful the game is here. For now.

Blimey, people getting their knickers in a twist over a bit of humour - and yes, it was humour.

Get a grip. It was not offensive.

(And to be quite honest, there were naughty players who were travelling there deliberately once they found they could, knowing full well they should not be doing it.)

And edited as wanted to add - can people stop posting as if their opinion is the same as every player? Have to courage of your convictions and stand by your own opinions!

    This is absolutely not insulting.

Although, if you KNEW you weren't supposed to be beyond the Wall yet, but got there by deliberately teleporting to someone who was, then you were making a conscious choice, and therefore cheating.

    HOWEVER...

It also needs to be mentioned, that both the Daily Quests (WB and Delve) and Antiquities were sending people beyond the wall, even when the wall isn't down. This should not have been happening.

    AND HONESTLY...

When ONE server gets to the next stage, ALL servers should be advanced to the next stage. Give an extra reward or something to people on the server that got there first, but advance all the servers equally. Please.

I would not take it as insulting, just a light hearted take on their stuff up and why it needed to be fixed. We knew they would be fixing it pretty quick.

Damn right I took the opportunity to go explore Eastern Solstice, I paid for it, and suffering through this event is enough to kill interest in the entire game! Especially if they keep taking the server down so I miss an entire night of playing ESO. Need something to relieve the boredom. Yes I knew the stupid wall was not down and it was just yet another stuff up by ZOS, but at least I got to go exploring a new area, then I went back to doing those Writhing Wall event quests.

They are free to add some more bugs that I get some benefit from, free Coldharbour estate for all of us, I missed out on the mistake that gave us a deal on that and actually brought it full price for my main account. One account got the free one during this event, one account is still waiting. Or a free actual house that is new, accidentally dropped in the reward boxes. They could accidentally think it is an anniversary event and give us all those goodies! I will not complain if it is some unexpected surprise and we get to keep it.

From my point of view, player creativity should be valued, not punished - especially since the whole objective of the event story-wise is gaining access to East Solstice.

Agreed it was a bit tongue-in-cheek (never heard the eggcorn 'tongue and cheek' before, but I can't say I'm surprised).

I look at it more as a missed opportunity for a lore reference: "Unfortunately, Molag Bal interfered with our portal and diverted some players to a spot they should not have been in".

Why yes, I have recently been playing through the Coldharbour section of the main story!
