I occasionally find something to hold onto that makes me feel like they might be listening to feedback and that the game will improve for me. The last comment about subclassing has pretty much made me give up hope now. The time for listening has passed, by the time they ever do, if they even do, it will be too late to turn the ship around.

I just try to get as much enjoyment out of the game as I can. All elements that I play in have been degraded though, PvE, PvP, housing. Every time I log in I remember how much better those things used to be.

Subclassing makes it so this is the only game where you can live that like anime fantasy isekai-style life with any kind of build you can imagine. The item sets+ mythic bonus and now subclassing/scribing allow you more build freedom than any mmo even though you're limited to 12 abilities. I see no issue with subclassing and hope they add even more ways to make bizarre builds.

I’m happy with the characters I have developed and am totally not interested in anime anything. If I were, I’d play Final Fantasy instead.

XIV has no build diversity, all homogenized, loot that does nothing, total opposite of ESO. ESO does what it does and does it good and keeps going deeper within those systems which is what I hope it keeps doing, more build depth to set it apart from all the other games, even WoW only has trinkets for special effects & not very often effects/set bonuses on items themselves. As long as they keep going down this path it'll make people who want it to be an actually unique mmo with build diversity happy.

Agreed, XIV has no build diversity within a class. You either go onto a dps class, a healer class or a tank class.
But what FF14 has is 22 classes, each with their own unique abilities and playstyle. And players can freely switch between classes they've levelled by changing their weapon sets.
I don't know about you, but I'd take 4 tank metas, 4 healing metas and 14 dps metas over the 1-1-1 we seem to have right now.

    PvP is another story though....

DIsclaimer: I've only played FF14 for about 200 hours. If anyone has more experience, then feel free to contradict me!
