Since U46 the pet cap has prevented casts from casting corpse-creating abilities, even though officially a new summon should just despawn corpses on the floor. I quote
U46 patch notes:
When attempting to create a new summon, the oldest summon active will now despawn itself to make room.
Non-permanent or unique summons, such as […] corpses directly summoned from Necromantic abilities (like Flame Skull or Bone Armor), can be replaced, but will never attempt to replace an active summons such as Skeletal Mage or Summon Shade.
U47 promised to fix non-despawning corpses from flame skull, hinting that this could be the source of issue, and also promised not consuming resources from failed casts. However, on U47 (Live):
- I still get blastbones casts that fail due to pet cap with NO “active summons”, no companion, not even skeletal mage – it’s just corpses on the floor
- This happens with and without flame skill (though it’s less frequent because corpses spawn at a lower rate)
- I may get the 550 stam that casting a blastbones refunded… but I don’t get the bb damage, the corpsebusting damage, or my GCD back! Triple damage loss per failed cast!
This happens over 10-15 times over a 3 minute parse. So can corpses actually be de-spawned pretty please? Or acknowledge this just isn’t supposed to work? I would appreciate like this necro build to be viable again, the statu quo is extremely frustrating to play, and saying it’s fixed when it’s absolutely not is very disappointing.
