Thoughts on a third morph option to have one for each role (dps, healer, tank) in each class tree?

Maybe this could be a way to make all class skilllines useful for all roles. Thoughts?

Not every skill's morphs work like that in the first place though. In fact it's much rarer than a skill having the same general use case but either slightly different bonuses in that use case or switching between stamina and magicka cost.

The options are either to have all skill lines have a balance of utilities in like old classes or all be dedicated to one role like new classes and knuckle down and do that for all skill lines on all classes.

Our current problem isn't a shortage of morphs, but rather that many skills have overly homogenized or useless morphs. Take Expansive Frost Cloak and Ice Fortress, for example. There's no need to create two distinct versions.

I think the best examples of morphs are Twisting Path and Refreshing Path. Look, one is a damage skill, the other a healing one; there's a clear distinction.

Another example is Dark Flare and Solar Barrage. One deals long-range, single-target damage, while the other deals area-of-effect damage. While both are damage skills, their additional effects are clearly different.

Honestly, I think a lot of our morphs are wasted. ZOS really needs to revamp and rework these overly homogenized morphs, otherwise many of these skills will remain useless.

I agree, I think maybe they could work on that, and once that's done, add a third one for whatever role is missing (dps, healer, or tank). That way all class skill lines would have a set of dps, healing, and tank abilities, and you wouldn't have for example all dps people just taking a combination of the Animal Companion, Assassination, Ardent Flame, Storm Calling, Grave Lord, and Herald of the Tome skill lines.

Yeah, I'd love to see more diversity in the morphs myself. I personally like morphs such as Polar Wind/Arctic Blast, Bound Aegis/Bound Armaments and Flames of Oblivion/Cauterize that have meaningful differences, unlike, say, both morphs of Runeblades.

I think there are quite some morphs whose effects could be condensed into one morph (such as in your Frost Cloak example), which would make room for a new morph with an alternative function. The Green Balance skill line for example just has morphs that provide healing - it'd be cool to have some plant-based damaging morphs in there instead, in my opinion.

Of course I wouldn't be against a third morph for each skill either though.

third morphs would be nice yes.

Though first we need the current morphs to be more distinctly different. and have both morphs be good choices.
