I wasn’t going to touch this but that scribing bench seemed important.

Logged on to find out they want me to do what was easily the worst questline in the game AGAIN (The scribing one) and I’m locked out of the easy “claim it from the store” one.

Honestly thank god I swore off ever spending money on this game after gold road but curse me for not doing it sooner. Veteran players always get treated like trash.

You can get the scribing altar without having to redo the questline or the claim from crown store objectives.

    Rather easily too.

I don’t have it in me to farm 300 mudcrabs with scribed skills anymore. If they’re gonna punish me for doing the content early then I think I’d rather just not play at all rather than be forced into playing more when I really don’t want to because FOMO is the only thing this wretched game has going for it to keep people around.

On the upside, think of all the chitin! 🦀

For people who already own the content, the remaining objectives all seem so easy that I could see someone completing them by mistake. This is definitely easier than other Golden Pursuits, even with just 20 to do.

Here are the easy 20, and you need 16 max:

I think the event is rather well balanced actually between new and vet players. New players can go through the scribing skill line and knock out a good chunk of the event. Vets already have the scribing and game knowledge to slot a few scribing skills and knock out a bunch of the event in a public dungeon quite quickly. Vets also can easily bang out quild dailies for that part and boost their overall quest count easily by doing writs.

I'm not doing any of the scribing quests (been there, done that) but already have 14/16. Can easily finish up just by claiming daily log in rewards or even faster by knocking out a few more guild dailies or writs.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

To lock so many of the available checklist behind an assumption shows how out of touch ZoS really is.
If they cared about everyone, then this would be linked to the achievement, and check for "RPL" and auto-complete it when the game client knows the player has obtained it on the current character.

My confidence in this game is being eroded:
    1. After the repeated warnings of a few about homogenization of the character base with Hybridisation, they doubled down with subclassing. Now it looks like they are scrambling to nerf the ridiculous power creep.
Zero forethought into balancing the class skill lines BEFORE they allowed the subclassing.
    2. Golden Pursuits are aimed at specific player groups and not actively engaging a decent cross section, despite the warnings from previous iterations. They continue to exclude more and more players.
    3. The Chapter system discarded after 10 successful years; instead of looking for ways to make it a little more accessible in subsequent years (as was made clear), they introduced a confusing Season Pass, despite the community not asking for a fix for what wasn't broken.

Deadset, I loved this game. However I've seen five seperate guilds that were previously so active over the last six-plus years just fade into nothing in the last 12 months, and people are just fed up with crazy changes and knee-jerk fixes, and ZoS ignoring the "pain points", "annoyances" and generally below average Quality Of Life issues (some of which have been shored up with add-ons on PC). I've posted and given lists and sent in tickets and seen absolutely no attempt to make meaningful small end change, and I can only guess it's because I am not a streamer or content creator that has follows; and they only listen to people who they believe will shill for them, and everyone else doesn't matter..

This Golden Pursuit debacle is just another way of them turning their backs on the people who put time and effort into the game, and insisting that they do it all over again if they want to get something shiny.

So far what I have learned is that I probably shouldn't buy any new content, seeing as I'll probably get it for free anyway, and go play something else until I do.

To pre-empt the inevitable reply: "Bitter much?" Yes. I have invested a lot into this game in terms of time and money. I'm finding daily that I am deciding whether to ignore the Sunk Costs fallacy dragging me back, and whether to walk away.

Just some perfunctory fillers as usual, but at least not enough to cause another economic slump in game. So I consider that a success.

First a lime-green shockwave , circulair and centered on you. After that, a transparent shield with green flecks lingers around you for the rest of the duration.

You can preview it by clicking on the icon in the Golden Persuit.

I've completed 14 on both PC NA and PC EU and supposedly have claimed the painting on both, but the painting doesn't appear anywhere in my inventory on either server.

I figured it out. Not an inventory item. It is in the gallery when you are decorating your house.

I think this Golden Pursuits campaign is a nice balance of activities which are aimed at players new to scribing and players who've already completed the scribing questline. ZOS did a good job of balancing the activities, in my opinion.

This is an interesting approach; I'll have to try it! I always just go to Cyrodiil and solo-capture some enemy resources, healing myself with my custom-scribed healing skill while the guards are attacking me. It takes a little longer, but I think it's fun, plus it gives me a bit of AP to boot-- moreso if I'm capturing specific resources for actual mission board quests.

I have scribing completed in total on all 18 of my toons. My only option to complete this golden pursuit is to create and level a new toon. I can't even use the first three rewards from the golden pursuit because my toons already know all the skills.

    No thanks.

Looks like ZOS just made a golden pursuit that's essentially something I can't complete on my account.

I completed scribing on all 20 of my characters and I completed the pursuit easily.

(Odd, no edit option on the opening post?) [DenverRalphy revealed the location to me below.]

If you have already completed Scribing and have no desire to do it again on another character, you are extremely limited in your options. It seems there are only 18 possible with 16 required. And that's assuming the two healing Pursuits are reasonably achievable.

Unless the not-counting of the Scribing Quests and Scribing ownership are bugs.

Throw a healing scribed skill on your bar, find a WB or mob that does decent damage to you and just heal yourself. Takes virtually no time at all

So many of these can be combined and done at the same time.

I did 3 guild quests on 2 of my characters that use class skills and one of them was using skills styles, 1 guild quest on another character so I'd end up with 10, then the last 3 guild quests on a character using scribed skills, then took her to Crimson Cove public dungeon to defeat more enemies. That completed 7 of the objectives rather quickly.

for those doing the quest wing of the dragon (crafting the riddle) when you leave dov-vahl via nahlia's portal to sunnamere when finished there WAIT for nahlia's portal to get to paragons as there is a lag...or at least for me!
