Gifting - How do I get it?

I’ve been a member and player for over 10 years. And in that time I’ve been an on again/off again player. In the past few years I’ve been a steady player. I’ve never violated an EULA and don’t intend to. I’m a guild master of a small guild and it would be nice to reward certain players with an occasional gift. Also my friends would like to be able to send gifts to me and vice versa. How do I get gifting privileges?

I know you’ve got to be pretty active for at least the last 30 days. Also, if you’ve ever exploited or done anything shady.. chances are they would err on the side of caution. I’m guessing you made this post because you’ve been denied, but if not.. you just follow the steps listed in-game or on the website (submit a ticket through the appropriate routing requesting access to gifting).

I’ve personally never used any grey market codes or exploited in any sense and they’ve given me access. I doubt it’s just random, so if there’s a reason they are denying you.. you may or may not be able to remedy that reason based on the risk you present to them.

I’d shoot a ticket in and they will tell you exactly why they deny you, assuming they do.

“Eligibility is determined by an evolving list of factors including but not limited to the account being at least 180 days past its first login and previous engagement with in-game features. If you do not have access to Crown Store gifting after it is re-enabled on October 11, 2023, and wish for a review of your account, submit a ticket to Customer Support.

Please choose the Billing / Purchase / Code category then Platform > I have a question about a sale / offer > I want to send gift items from this account.“

Thanks for that info. I made a request around Christmas time 2024, and was told that my account didn't have enough activity to warrant them turning on the gifting feature. However, despite being a member since release, and having a sub running that entire time, I feel like that all comes to naught when asking for something like gifting. To my knowledge I've never violated their policies or license agreements, and I've never done (or plan to do) anything even close to the stuff these abusers do.

But I'll give their recommended steps a try and go from there.

So okay, I was invited to try again after repeated denials in the past. No known or suspected red flags, denied anyway.

"For those who may have applied for gifting before and did not qualify, we encourage you to try again under the newly updated guidelines.

As a reminder on how to fill out the form, here is a step-by-step walkthrough:
    ...
    ...
Fill out your information (Please make sure to fill out as much information as possible, including any alts you would like gifting access for.)"

The above line implies that there is now an actual form to fill out that will prompt you for answers. Nope. You are still expected to write a paragraph addressing a list of unknown criteria that potentially "evolve" monthly. Or daily. Or never.

It's like going through customs at the airport. It doesn't matter what you say, they are still going to search your bags.

Gifting is per account, not character, so why would they ask for the names of alts?

They mean alt accounts. Players have had issues getting alt accounts approved for gifting, so this is a way for Support to consider what main account an alt account is tied to. That is not something they used to take into consideration, apparently.

This is the comment the quotes are taken from, regarding changes to the process:

“The general changes being made are to help in making gifting more accessible overall, especially for those looking for gifting access on alt accounts.”

When I see the term 'alts' I think of alt characters. Thus the confusion.
