Issues running ESO-Database.com Client

Hey there!

I'm newer to the forums, I requested access in order to post about this topic specifically.

To start off, I'd like to mention I am currently running ESO on a Mac mini with the M4 chip at time of writing. That being said, I have had no problems whatsoever relating to the game itself — this is the only major issue I've run into so far, and even then I've come up with a workaround (as tedious as it may be).
I have been trying repeatedly for hours to get the ESO-Database.com Client app to run on its own without needing to use the aforementioned workaround, to no avail. The only way I can actually get the app to open and run is by right-clicking on it within my applications folder, selecting "open package contents" from the dropdown menu, navigating to the JAVA file, then running it by opening that. It runs and works just fine through that method.
Every other time I try to open the app just from the icon itself, I get a Finder permissions error, saying "Finder doesn't have permission to open (null)."

Does anyone know a possible way to get it to run without the need of opening the .jar file every time, and is anyone else having the same issue? Anything will be of help right now, I swear I feel like I've looked everywhere for a proper solution.

Sounds like you don`t have permission to open but I know in the past few days of trouble, I have had some addons getting suspended by an anti-virus program. If the eso database has to go through a firewall then you may have found your problem.

Some users trying to install Minion3 on Mac also got a secrutiy warning and permission issues.
It's not the same message but ma,ybe related.

We fund put these workaround, or Mac OS steps to do:
-If Minion won't start because of any security warning, e.g. "'Minion' is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."
You can read in detail about that kind of security warning here "How to Fix "App Is Damaged and Can't Be Opened" on Mac"
    https://www.howtogeek.com/803598/app-is-damaged-and-cant-be-opened/

The link also explains below the headline "Why Does This Happen?" why you see that messages on MacOS.

    Workaround for that security message:
After you install minion from the dmg the first time loading you have to right click the icon in applications and choose open, then you should be able to open it.
After that you can just click the icon like normal.

Else that firewall and antivirus tool steps also sound plausible to me. Something in Mac, either build in: due to missing certificates of the installer file you try to install; or whatever other reason is blocking the file to be opened.
