Granted today was a bonus xp day. But still.. took him all of 15 minutes to level a skill line from 1 - 50 with master writs.
Gotta say, that's pretty simple.

Not for me, but for my gf, as it is a total let-down, while she plays since 11 years, all classes and every skill leveled. And as she saw she have to level everything again, she just logged off and her motivation to play decreased immediately to 0.

Alchemy writs are 100k+ gold on traders already.
It surprises me, that ZOS isn't selling class skill lines in the crown store. That was my guess, how they tried to milk subclasses.
It also surprises me, that everyone is accepting the grind. Sadly not everyone got the time for the drill again.

When you create a new character, that character's skill points have to be earned from scratch. They not related to any other character progression. So why would this be a surprise?
You can't level 1 at a time with 6 skills equipped until you've already leveled that skill line to 42 anyway, because you won't have unlocked all 6 skills yet. Definitely level 2 skill lines at a time, keep the number of skills on your bar from each skill line as even as you can, and pay attention to which individual skills are at what rank so you're morphing them as soon as possible and once they're fully leveled remove them from your bar to replace with ones you haven't leveled yet.If I need to level 2 skill lines, is it faster/more efficient to level 1 skill line at a time with 6 skills equipped, or is it better to level 2 skill lines simultaneously with 3 skills each slotted?

That's a good way to do it if you don't have a ton of master writs or can't afford to/don't want to buy tons of master writs at exorbitant prices. If you have plenty of master writs, though, you can level 2 subclass lines fully as well as leveling 1 morph of each of the skills in about 15-20 minutes. Here is how we do it.
Grab a friend. Take one of your characters with 20 skill points.
Pop a grand experience scroll, load the first skill in the subclass line. (This refunds the skill points from your old skill line so you have a pool of about 40 skill points)
Do Blackrose prison, normal. After the first round, your skill will be ~25. Load up your bar with all the new skills,
When you finish BRP you will be skill 50. Be sure to load your bar with your new skills between rounds (but keep a good damage skill).
Takes about 45 minutes for us.
Then you can dump that new skill line (costs 1500 gold) and repeat the whole process

Because subclassing is not a new character.
If you logged through every character, you even unlocked each skill line in your collectible and got an achievement, yet you have to grind everything again.
I am happy you all have enough time for that useless grind, but others haven't and are sick to grind stuff again, that has been done in the last years.
We just want to play the game and not standing brainless in arenas or open dungeons to level things up.
This, and then you can switch back without leveling again as you know it already.RealLoveBVB wrote: »drkfrontiers wrote: »RealLoveBVB wrote: »I was about to ask the same question.

If you decide to change the weapon on your character from staff to bow or 2-handed to dual wield, you will need to level that skill line no matter how many characters you have that have already leveled those sills.
Just play the game. You will level the lines quickly enough without doing stuff you find boring.
Can I just confirm I'm understanding this correctly?
I'm a Nightblade and I have a warden fully leveled, I wish to sub class into a warden skill tree. I still have to level my warden skill line from 1-50 on my nightblade once I select the skill line through the quest?
Even though I have a fully leveled warden character?
No issues just wanted to confirm I understand the requirements correctly:)
I decided I wanted to try out arcanist instead of sorc so went to swap skill lines but found out that you're locked in to whatever line you chose until it hits 50. Great, now levelling it isn't so much fun after all.
