Why is only 1 dolmen in Cyrodiil up at a time?

This is such a painful experience trying to complete all dark anchors in Cyrodiil. This place is enormous. Why on earth can only 1 of these be up? It's a tiny event. They should all be spawning in as you arrive and then have like a 10-15min respawn time.

Do you know how complicated it is logistically to have a continuous flow of cultists and human sacifices, especially since the Worm Cult has been defeated 10 years ago?

By now I fully believe they're not actually Worm Cultists anymore, but just LARPers who take their LARPing very seriously.

One possibility might be to divide the Cyrodiil dolmens into three groups based on each alliance's "native" territory, such that each third of Cyrodiil could have its own active dolmen. That would be three dolmens for two areas and four for the other, so it would be comparable to the base game zones.

Yeah, and they definitely should have left Cyrodiil alone when they did this update. I finished this achievement probably eight or nine years ago, and boy, I'm glad I never had to do it the current way.

I did too. It is still possible to do it now but not solo. Somebody’s got to be back where you can see the map at the base and tell which dolmen is active.

I did the achievement solo a couple of months ago (Ravenwatch, off-peak hours). I set aside enough time to do all the dolmens in one go, so I wasn't doubling up completing ones I'd already done, and picked a time when my Alliance owned most of the map. With nobody else doing the dolmens, it was pretty easy to clear one, port to IC, port back to Cyrodiil, check the wayshrine for the next active one and ride on out. It took a while, but was pretty painless :)
It's a tradition, or an old charter, or something...

Can't you just set your map filters to show the dolmens? I know I always see things like dolmens, skyshards, delves, etc. on my map of Cyrodiil, regardless of whether I'm using the normal wayshrine to leave Cyrodiil, using the transitus shrine network to fast travel to an accessible friendly keep, or just using my map to see what's going on. Addendum: Each of those types of map has its own set of filters, so you need to set them on each type of map.

Not only is it the way dolmens now work, but Cyrodiil is also infamous for crippling server-side performance issues.

So having more active dolmens that the vast majority of Cyrodilic players couldn't care less about wouldn't make any sense. Keep in mind they removed critters from Cyrodiil to help improve performance. Every bit matters there.

That is incorrect. You have to go to the map then I think there is what looks like tabs on the top left(not playing right now) there are filter options. You have to have visited the dolmens for them to show up just like PVE. Once you have you can see which one is active just like in PVE. The trick is to try different servers to see if your faction has a lot of the keeps so you can just port to the keep that is near an active dolmen. Most things are turned off by default so you have to toggle them on.

Absolutely. The article is difficult to find because the search results are polluted with articles explaining neurotransmitters released from exercise, but, the mere act of watching scenery passing by also releases feel-good neurotransmitters. But that is just one thing.

It just feels more delightful and special to run across the small things out in the wilds when they are separated by longer distances. The distance enhances the feeling of exploration and adventure. It is why, in real life, hiking a trail in an isolated nature preserve has different feel from a hike thru the suburbs.

There are a few delve-level bosses out in the wilds of Cyrodiil in completely unmarked places. And very good short stories, too. By short stories, I mean, small scenes that when interacted with, tell a brief story. In fact, one of the best love stories in all of ESO is just north of Fort Aleswell.
