Shadow Image needs to respect line of sight like every other teleport

Shadow Image should only work if you have line of sight to the image. This is how every other teleport and blink works in the game. If a teleport ability ignores line of sight, it opens up all sorts of issues.

In 1v1's in Cyrodiil, it's basically a teleport-through-walls hack and the NB becomes impossible to kill. It takes a minimum of 3-4 players to kill any NB using Shadow Image in keeps and towers. 1-2 players have to sit at the image waiting for the teleport and they still might not kill the NB before the image gets refreshed.

This ability should never have made it to Live nor should it have gone this long without fixing.

    Now they "changed" (wouldn't say nerfed) cloak, players will target another nb spell to make them weaker.

    Just make a simple rule for nb spells: once you slot a class spell as nightblade, you immediately undress all your sets and weapons. Sounds balanced then, hu?

    It should NOT have launched with the game. It's crazy to say that it should. Clearly you haven't seen how absolutely ridiculous this ability is in Cyrodiil because if you have then you wouldn't even think to write what you did. Either that or you're defending this ability because you abuse it yourself.

    Ask yourself what the counter is to this ability in keeps and towers in a 1v1? Oh right, there is none because this ability literally lets you teleport hack through walls and floors.

    Counter to Streak is move speed or a gap closer
    Counter to Stealth is magelight, camo hunter, detect pots, conspicuous poison, etc
    Counter to Shadow Image? Download Cheat Engine, find position XYZ memory offsets, create fly hack script to catch NB teleporting through walls and floors

    No they're not "pretty much the same"

    1) Temporal Guard works maybe 20% of the time, the rest you're bouncing around like a yo-yo for 20 seconds waiting for that buggy mess of an ability to finally stop and then you instantly die anyways because enemy players are sitting there laughing at you the whole time

    2) that is an ultimate and has a cooldown so it's less of an issue since you can only realistically cast it once a minute

    3) that ability has a trailing positional delay of about 3 seconds which makes teleporting through walls and floors much less common

    I play a Nightblade and there's 3 things that are way out of balance with the class:

    1) shadow image
    2) spectral bow's damage coefficient and ramping wd/sd is way too high even after the "nerf" in U46. There's no reason for it to hit as hard as Take Flight and Ice Comet. Merciless Resolve hits 25% harder than Incapacitating Strike. That should tell you something.
    3) Concealed Weapon hits as hard as Flawless Dawnbreaker due to NB and Vamp passives, including Exploiter

    I'm out here casually landing 10k concealed weapons and 22k spectral bows wearing Rush of Agony and VD with 33k health. Now imagine wearing Shattered Fate or Farstrider.

    I also play a Sorcerer that uses Hardened Ward and I was a vocal advocate of nerfing the heal. You're welcome.

    How come your complain comes now and not 4 years ago?
    Because someone recently "outplayed" you and you can't leave it at it is?

    We have to see, how they are going to design Cyro anyway. After all the vengeance tests are done, I am pretty sure we will not have the old Cyro anymore, instead one with reworked skills for every class, then we will see if shadow image is part of it and in which form.

    Before that we will have subclasses anyway and shadow image will be the tiniest problem at all.

    I am somewhat really looking forward for all the "nerf x" and "balance x"-threads when subclasses are hitting cyro.

    Ask yourself what the counter is to this ability in keeps and towers in a 1v1? Oh right, there is none because this ability literally lets you teleport hack through walls and floors.

    The counter to the ability is to bait the fight outside of the abilities radius, its not that big, The NB is sacrificing 1 skill slot to have this ability slotted which if they are using it for this purpose is serving no other benefit. So you have an inherent advantage on them outside of the fact they could port away if you let them fight in its range.

    OR keep the fight ON the shade. meaning if they port away then you are already basically next to them.

    If you let yourself get kited and fight in an in-advantaged position then this is a gameplay problem not the fault of an ability.

    It is a unique ability and escape mechanism. I agree a skilled NB using this is almost impossible to kill, but it is impressive to see. Never occurred to me that it should be nerfed, though.

    I agree 100% with your comments about spectral bow (way OP) and concealed weapon. NB is the prime example of how the game has gotten out of balance. You shouldn’t be able to wear two OP damage/proc sets and still be tanky.
    3 GOs, a Warlord, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP

    If a NB uses this ability, it means they’re running from you. The solution is to stop chasing. Tower runners do it to waste your time, kite you away from bigger fights, and flex their “skill” on their streams.

    Sure, a skilled NB could use this ability in a really effective way. But that same NB could kill you without it. It’s not the ability, it’s the player.
