@ZOS_Kevin has their been any word from the team regarding making provisioning stations more relaxed with the yellow non-interactive border when placing them for use?

It kinda sucks that we can't place these inside of fireplaces to use as a cooking hearth.

I'd just like to be able to do something as simple as place an ale stein on top of crafting table and still leave it useable.

I suspect it's a limitation of the engine though. Which is why you can't even lay flooring in front of the house's primary exit.

I don't think its the engine. There are a few furnishings that can be placed on crafting tables and do not interact. There is a base game pan if I am correct that can be put on the Elsweyr Grill and you can still interact with it.

The reason for them not allowing the placement of items in front of the door is to ensure that players can not be trapped or glitched outside of the instance or something. That is deliberate for sure.

As far as why crafting stations are sensitive, that I can't say. Seems fairly pointless imo. Also the Chonometer of the Tribunal can darn near be embeded fully into an object and still be interacted with. This tells me that the lack of interaction or "yellow border" is deliberate and not a function of the engine.

    Why? That I can't rationalize.

I’ve always suspected it’s to make people who want a cooking fire inside a hearth buy the Winter Festival Hearthfire furnishing, and I’ve always thought that all the fires you can buy for fireplaces should just automatically be provisioning stations. https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/File:ON-furnishing-Winter_Festival_Hearthfire.jpg0i5weo0u5qws.jpeg

Sometimes the furnishings just aren't consistently usable. Many bookcases work well, for example, but I found you can't place books in the Leyawiin bookcase and still interact easily with them.

They need to release more designs for the provisioning station. It's the one crafting station I use regularly, and I wish we had some more interesting designs than meat on an open flame. Perhaps a simpler design with just a cooking pot on a few hot coals, a smaller design which might actually fit in a fireplace. Or something fancier with decorated stoneware around the fire, or with a fancy cooking pot.

There are actually a few different styles of provisioning stations - Clockwork, Elsweyr, Druidic, Solitude, even Maormer. I could not find a page of just provisioning stations, but you can see all types of stations here:

Thanks! I had actually been researching the different available stations for the Golden Pursuits. I found them mostly too big or too utilitarian-looking. The Maomer one actually looks quite cute but I'm still trying to figure out how to fit that design into a home.

I loved loved loved the Ayleid blacksmithing station, and would give anything to see a magical Ayleid provisioning station.

For those that have it, is the Druidic station interactable if you submerge half of it in the ground?

No. It has to be placed like all the other crafting stations.

I think I saw that bed warmer hanging on the wall there once in an episode of Bewitched when Samantha was visiting Salem. 🧙‍♀️

Unfortunately provisioning stations and other interactive furnishing objects are very finicky when other objects are placed too near.

I've tried throwing slabs and chunks of meat on the Elsweyr Grill Provisioning Station. That seems impossible as the meat needs to placed a few feet above the grill or the Provisioning Station will not work.

This was the latest latest Provisioning Station: got my meat roasting on the spit inside the hearth.
