Pearls change reduces healer interactivity

After speaking to many healers, they enjoy the active effort required to get value out of pearls. Reducing its value by giving it the same benefit as a skill has taken away what many healers view as the most engaging part of playing the game.

Pearls was in the game for years, and only led to excessive ult generation when we added major heroism to trample. I think trample is the correct thing to nerf, not pearls.

    Easily accessing Major Heroism for ten seconds with a two second cast time skill has changed the balance a lot. Because Major Heroism was not that common before it.

    Now you can run Trample everywhere. Maybe not in some encounters though.

    Pearls is probably the most engaging thing in my gameplay on live atm. I will be really sad to see this change go live.

    Having my Warden run SPC/pearls/pillagers and symphony was fun for guild trial nights. It was an enjoyable build and satisfyingly interactive.

    It's frustrating because I was thinking, "well at least I'll probably still have a viable healer build even if my DDs are nerfed"

    This was a terrible change for people who like engaging playstyles.

    This is exactly the kind of change that we were weary about.

    Since there is more options for ultigen coming with subclassing, the non subclassing ways will get nerfed.

    Awful idea.

    I mean it's not as if as healers there were that many different way to play. Seems they don't want healers buffing the group just healing and resource gen. Does week 5 hold a nerf to RO as well just to completely gut us of useful things?

    Yeah, this makes healing much easier. No need for pearls, can use trample instead. Can use the Master's resto again on my nb and not worry about spc not proccing on my back bar. Makes healing much more chill.

    Well, templars look good now, so I guess I switch to templar dd. There's enough supports in this game, right?

    I wouldn't be so bummed about this if they had given us a viable alternative, but support gear options with new content releases have been (and still are) historically pretty awful. When the dps meta is a set that requires dps to keep their stam low, why on earth do they keep giving us group sustain sets? We don't use those, we don't want them, and we have never asked for them. The existing choices are already flooded with a dozen different variants.

    Pearls was a great mythic that made healing fun and dynamic, and Pillagers was a fantastic group utility set that synergized beautifully with Pearls. Both were some of the most interesting and well designed sets made in a long time. I get that damage had to be reigned in to counter the damage increase that came with subclassing, but this was not the answer. I'm pretty bummed and disappointed, and I'm concerned about the new healer meta that is surfacing. It sounds uninteresting and unengaging, and doesn't renew my interest in the game in the slightest.

    I just hope we figure out something different in the coming weeks.

    If only we still had class reps @p00tx but I figure getting rid of the class reps was step 1 in this multi-classing nonsense. Given the focus on multiclassing it would be nice if we at least had role reps for tank/healer/DD to give input that ZoS might actually listen to since they seem to ignore PTS feedback.

    Instead of just giving us a class change token like we have been asking for, they continue to take the fun out of the current game with these garbage changes.
