Nb dark cloak ..

Long story short..i m writing from pvp perpective ...shadowy disguise has been nerfed to the ground..its no longer any viable in pvp.

Other morph dark cloak is one of the weakest class healing skills of all. Its neither burst nor a good hot. Can we get a reliable morph for this skill.. either adjust scaling better ..remove stand still.. smthng usable?
I dont wanna compare it to other class skills either burst or hot as all know what are they and how weak dark cloak is compared.

For reference.. with 40 k hp it heals for 1.080 hp per second in pvp for 4.050 base magicka cost.. not an aoe heal...

As a nb PvP main, completely can’t relate. Cloak is great, if you don’t entirely rely on it to survive, e.g. spamming every second or staying in cloak for more than a few seconds. It gives you 1 GCD of reposition with nullifying all projectiles coming at you, plus gives you 300 weapon damage (vampire’s strike from shadow passive) plus gives you major savagery on both bars. Some other classes have to slot Camouflaged Hunter or Inner Light just to have this one passive on ONE bar.
I think this skill is packed with goodies and if you think “it’s not viable in PvP”, that’s definitely a skill issue.

Yes ..from your point of view. As a nb main too i was a ganker and really loved that style of playing.my aprroach reflects that its no longer what it used to be. Now even heavy attacking removes stealth..disables magicka recovery etc.and yes i m not a skilled player.

On the other hand ..here my argument is about dark cloak and how weak its compared to other class skills.with a hope j;ust maybe ;it can be taken in line with other class hots for the cost of magicka i spent to cast it.

Why are you writing in the PTS forum? Is this about the upcoming patch or the live server?

Dark Cloak is a PvE tanking skill. It is strong in that capacity. It might also work for a PvP troll tank. As to Shadowy Disguise being weak in PvP on live, I don't agree. I think it's balanced well enough. I'm a magblade main.

I haven't noted any change to Shadowy Disguise yet, for next patch. We'll have to await Monday's patch notes. They should be the main combat-related ones. If it stays unchanged, subclassing will open up new ways of using and sustaining cloak, such as combining it with Streak or sustaining it with Dark Conversion. So I don't think anything needs to be done to make it stronger (or weaker), just now.

In regard to the live server, I don't think a cloaking nightblade is the easiest class to play - Streak is an easier-to-use skill - but this has always been the case. Nightblade has a learning curve. That said, the easiest way to make cloak (Shadowy Disguise) work is by combining it with a lot of speed. Perhaps this means you can't be a melee ganker as easily as you could in the past. I wouldn't know. I've always been a rounded magblade.

I'll repost the following video as an illustration of how I play, so you can judge my skill level for yourself and whether I'm BSing. I see cloaking as a more strategic tool than others, e.g. Streak. It allows me to traverse IC, but also many Cyro battlefields unbothered. If I want to disengage, I usually can. That said, a competent streaking sorc is the main spec that will counter my playstyle. Thus the video is maybe not the best example of using cloak to control a fight. On the other hand it's the only video I have out, right now, and it shows that you can fight sorcs on this spec and win:

I disagree, I do not like the change but have adjusted to it. It's great for burning siege, burn one, hit the skill, move to the next. Until someone casts or uses a potion that pulls you out of stealth there are flames all over the place from siege burning.

Just use Vamp state 4 and get a few seconds run before you approach your target, then hit cloak right before you get there. Gank away.

Dark Cloak is fine if not underpowered as hp scaling health for tanking.

NB already have Shrewd/Healthy Offering that is probably the best burst heal in the game.

I love how Dark Cloak was changed multiple times but ended up being absolutely terrible. Requirement to stand still kills the ability.

I'm still waiting for the null poison or potion or scribing skill to even out the play field. But yea, it's just for the crit passive and weapon.

The repos only really works when you have low enough ping. It doesn't even work in pve most of the time. Basically just use it for the weapon damage. Plenty of passives still pull you from cloak when they should just damage. Maybe that's also server hating on high ping players.

If cloak is so loaded. You'll see other classes slot it for subclass. Time will tell.
