I have a feeling subclassing isn't a good thing. bad day for arcanist.

At first one could insert that meme

Me when i find out subclassing is a thing: super happy emoji!
Me when i find out my main arcanist is going to be destroyed: Crying emoji.

The main issue i have is that the game just wasn't balanced around people being able to have 3 skill lines of dps, tanking or healing and all this will bring is huge nerfs and reworks for skills and passives. (Looking at you templar passives).
And i can tell you people really dislike nerfs and reworks.
I at least am still not happy with jabs spear appearance being a nighthollow staff.

People are doing more than 170k+++ dps atm. At first glance it's nice that this subclass system opens the door for more casual players to feel excited for dungeons and vet content because they more easily can reach the dps needed for it and the pro players can carry them easily if needed. So this creates a situation where everyone could potentially do vet content. So that just leaves the mechanics and wether or not the pro players will get bored.
At least on my side of things, from guilds i joined, i noticed people wouldn't do trials because there just was never enough people to sign up, tanks... raid leaders.
So subclassing can bring some benefit, but some of the hard mechanics will still be a issue.

From what i saw on update 35, i doubt 170k++ dps will be the norm and i know the first class that will suffer is arcanist. It will create a situation where people that don't do subclassing will be really left behind on the damage numbers. So i am thankfull at least this update is free.

On pvp side of things...i really dislike having what i like nerfed over and over because of pvp. So perhaps if pvp can be separate from pve in the near future, this update won't hurt pvp that bad.

I hope at least before arcanist is heavily nerfed. maybe that removing crux gain from scribbling Class skills can be done to test if it helps the balance.

Arcanist helped me enjoy eso a lot more. I just never liked the combat that much, the class smoothness, the easy of use, the fact i felt strong and not useless, the fact i could do content i couldn't before. It hurts i will lose that.

But i am hopefull i am wrong, very wrong and things end up being awesome and cool for everyone.

You have a feeling it’s bad because it is.
No more classes because there is only one.
People have already figured out the one build for pvp it’s a mix of assassination/animal companions/earthen heart/restoring light. If you log in you will literally see everyone using one same build. Haven’t tested pve but for dd at least it’s going to be the same something like herald of the tome/grave lord/dawn’s wrath.

And we though diversity was bad after hybridization. Well, now there is none at all.
To think class identity that has been worked on for years was rid of in a single update.

Even during all this years the balance was never that good... so i can't imagine what will happen when this hits the game.

I hope at least they manage to fully separate pvp from pve. Giving pvp their own skills and balance.

This not possible for the foreseeable future. The have to get done with subclassing if they ever will or until the game dies out whichever comes first.

Interesting, I expect Assassination to be used in 100% of builds. Why animal companions?

Either way, NB, Warden, DK, Templar will be only viable PVP classes if this is the case.

On the PVE side Arcanist/Necro/NB....aside from the minimal number of specialists like tanks and healers required for the higher levels of endgame content.

One constant here...NB is the class common to everything.

Shalks, Minor Berserk for on-bar passive & Netch for damage buff and a lot of sustain.

Also fed up of this false narrative that everything gets nerfed because of PvP. When almost all PvP nerfs do not effect PvP - things like Caluurion. Whilst skills are nerfed every patch because of PvE which effect PvP, but then blame PvP.

At least Arcanist will still be mega, it is the only class to use as DD, because of class script on the banner being the best out of that and Necro.

Because animal companions is one of the most loaded skill lines in the game. A great aoe burst damage skill that provides both major and minor breach, a mobility skill with minor berserk, one of the best sorc/brut skills, and very strong passives.
