This is an old bug but it still has not been fixed.

When doing the Greenshade quest "Right of Theft", you're supposed to listen through the five cutscene-mode fragments in which the Blackroot clan invade the Vullain, kill and eat the villagers, but lose the war because the villagers have poisoned themselves to poison their enemies. Only to discover, centuries after his death, that an unknown force has stolen his bow and compelled him to return from the grave and serve, by invoking the Right of Theft.

And when you then get to the entrance to the Nereid Temple (where General Malgoth, dying of poison, went to beg a cure from the Nereids, who laughed at him), Indaenir is supposed to appear, for the player to talk to. (The quest stage advances to "Talk to Indaenir".)

It is impossible to get into the Temple without having talked to Indaenir, since the door does not open.

So if Indaenir does not appear, you are stuck. Unfortunately he *also* does not appear back at the beginning of the quest - although there should be no need to go back there either, since you would then have to come back here to enter the Nereid Temple.

This has happened to me... seven times now on different characters, both on EU and NA.

I wondered if it was a problem of incompatibility, Indaenir being in a different place for a different quest (since he is necessary in three Greenshade quests that can be done in any order and run concurrently): however I had in fact finished all other Greenshade quests, both story and side-quests, except for this one and the final one at Hectahame (for which "Right of Theft" is a pre-requisite.)

I also wondered if it was an issue caused by other players being in the same area and causing confusion with which version of Indaenir should appear and talk to which player.

Fortunately, the problem is solved by logging out (to desktop) and logging back in, at which point Indaenir appears in the correct place and the quest can be continued. However, it should not happen at all: Indaenir should apppear immediately.
