It's been so many years that this bug keeps being annoying for many players, when will you finally solve it? I have the shrines ONLY checked and those I want to see only in Tamriel map mode, why do I have to double check other boxes.......EVERY.......SINGLE.....TIME??? And no..... no addon causes that.

✭I know this isn't the ideal solution but when it comes to issues like this one but as far as I can tell for years its the ONLY solution in terms of ESO: You do yourself a huge favor by relying on mod authors for QOL.
This is my modded map on a twink. Only shows a specific house of my choice and the currently selected quest. The orange icons are crafting tables, I got all of them visible by choice. I could disable them too if I wanted to.
Don't stress yourself, don't wait for a QOL update.
Install an addon. Mod authors know what you want because they want it themselves. They play the game so they won't let you wait for years to fix things for you. Them treating themselves is your treat too.

Don't wait for Zos. It's not healthy.
