PS5 - how do I select a race at character creation?

When I make a new character, it jumps directly to class with a random race each time. I see no option to go back and choose race/gender.

I feel very dumb, but I figured it out. In case anyone else comes across this thread, you have to scroll down from the class selection, on the same tab.
