Greymoor: An Instrumental Triumph / Bards College Achievement Bugged/Impossible

Hi there,
I did searches and read a lot, but cannot find a solution:
In order to get the Greymoor achievement "An Instrumental Triumph" I need to return the missing instruments to the Bards College. I have done the introductory quest, and am now tasked to find the other items.
Here is the problem:
Some instruments are already in place. But they are not marked for the achievement. On of them I do also have in my inventory, apparently form years back, but can not place it again. So, I am stuck and can never finish this quest.
I checked all my other toons, they have no museum pieces in their inventory, no checked parts of the achievement, yet, some pieces are already in place. So they face the same problem.
I presumes the reason is the change in achievements a few years ago. This achievement is charcacter based, but the work one of my characters did in the past did not carry over into the revamped achievement, nor were the already placed pieces removed.
Qustion:
1. Is there a way to reset this museum?
2. Is there another way to get the music box that requires the achievement
...should I open a ticket for this?
