Game is resetting all video settings to ultra every time I logout of the game.

Ever since this last update the game is putting itself into full screen and resetting all video adjustments to ultra. 2 days in a row now I have had to reset the in-game setting to windowed version and medium setting which is what I have had them at for years now. But suddenly the game is force changing these each time I log out. I have deleted the game and downloaded it after erasing all user data and it is not fixing the issue.

Is anyone else dealing with this?

Well I guess I appreciate it being moved then. And I adjusted it out of read only and restarted the pc and it is still doing the same thing. I now can't even get the settings to apply in the game now when I change then. Each time I select "E" to apply any changes I have made it just resets them back to what they were before the change. I removed all add-ons and it is still doing this. Not sure what happened on the back end to make this happen but I would appreciate it being looked into. My game shouldn't be forcing a 4k series graphics card to overclock now simply because I can't get in-game setting to work properly.

I am also noticing that the fix above that was suggested is not working. It automatically resets itself to read only. Something that has never been that way before. But the file will not allow it to stay unchecked.

I have deleted user settings and restarted the pc. Started the game and still nothing.............

I am done. I am fed up and tired of dealing with these issues that get created on my pc from every single new "update" or "maintenance" that happens on pc. I am fed up and tired with having to delete the game just to keep downloading it again and again and again while waiting for weeks to get someone to respond. I deleted the game and will check in to see if this game functions properly later in the year. Best wishes to all who have the patience to deal with this. I am just fed up with having to spend hours after every update trying to fix things that get broken from updates.

You could check if your GPU is handling ESO. Those settings could maybe override ingame settings.

I was wondering the same thing, a while back my graphics card manager started changing my in game chosen settings. 🙂

this is happening to me and a friend as well. Same thing, set to full screen settings on ultra. And for him, its crashing his pc every single time to the point where he cant even play. He launches the game and it just bricks his PC. Idk what the dev team did but they clearly broke something.

maybe try running the repair tool on the launcher if you're still having this issue. seems to have fixed the freezing and settings, for now.

I was suddenly forced into Fullscreen mode as well of days ago, didn't notice my settings were set to ultra though but it's possible.

Changing settings from inside the game menu didn't save the settings so I tweaked my usersettings.txt manually and seems it fixed for me. File isn't read-only etc. and at least yesterday everything was working normally again.

No problems on my work pc though, just home pc.
