Is there any incentive to get back into ESO?

I've been playing ESO since Elsweyr came out, but for the past few months I've lost a lot of interest with it. I want to find something with a fulfilling grind, and ESO just hasn't been doing that for me. I've got every motif I've been looking for, completed most of the game's quests, and done endless daily writs with no real purpose. Is there any content the community can recommend that'll give the game purpose again and hook me in like ESO once did?

Dungeon and trial HM and trifecta core groups. There’s no escaping ESO when you’re forced to log in multiple times a week hahahahahahaha…

In addition to above, I'm going to assume housing is not something you're interested in. If it is, the work involved to furnish houses to your liking ends up being a game all its own.

I can't recommend anything but finding people you can play with consistently, be it dungeons, arenas, trials, PvP, overland or all of that. I'd personally be long gone if not the people I play with that are still somewhat active so am I until some of us will have enough with the game.

Nothing wrong with taking a break - honestly, there's not a lot going on right now either.

Come Jan. 9th, we'll hopefully get a better idea of what content we'll be getting this year - that might give you something to get excited about, or not. If it's the latter, then nothing wrong with just taking an ESO rest and seeing where things end up.

But @colossalvoids is right, if you can find people to play with on a regular basis, it definitely makes a big difference. Can be easier said than done sometimes though.

I'm kinda just in a holding pattern right now myself - working on my orc character, been having fun with that - plus I've been waiting forever for Forgemaster Falls to come back, really enjoy housing, though I understand that's not for everyone.

I'm basing my ESO plus renewal on what is showcased on Jan 9th (it expires at the end of the month). In the meantime, I've been checking out some other games as well - finally got over the learning curve of The Long Dark, and I've been loving it.

For me, it's logging in on ten accounts for daily login rewards, doing daily crafting writs on 40 toons plus a day, buying/reselling from guild traders, sharing some daily quests (wb, delve, and incursion), and running some 4-player content a few times a week with a few friends for sticker book and keys. Once in a while, we will get a trial group together to farm non-perfected gear for the sticker book.

If you have to ask, I would suggest doing something else until the desire to play again returns organically.

I was away from the game for years after getting sick of a lot of things back in 2019. I came back refreshed with a better attitude, willing to accept the game for what it is instead of what I hoped it would be.

It's refreshing to take a long break because one stares the FOMO demon in the eyes and realizes clearly none of the limited time stuff matters. Events, writs and all other activities can be easily skipped. This game throws an overwhelming amount of loot at us, especially cosmetic, so it's no big deal to miss any of it.

Wait for the sunshine-pumping livestream on the 9th and see if anything there floats your boat; otherwise, no if you have done all the questing there is not much to return for unless you really like ESO dungeons and trials.

Yeah I mean this is the problem with their reduced content release model over the last two years, with reduced offerings in Q3 and Q4. It's a long time to go without much new stuff to do. If you aren't into BG's, there's been nothing new for months and there's nothing new impending right now.

As others have suggested, I'd wait and see what's in the livestream this week... and I hope they shake things up in a good way with the new chapter-less schedule this year, though I'm skeptical. We'll see.
