Characters Deletion Question

I'm trying to clear out (delete) some old characters I don't use anymore, but there's apparently a 3 character limit, when you hit it, you can't delete anything else - how fast does it give me the option to delete again?
(I'm not leaving ESO, just clearing out unused characters)

It resets one per 24 hours. It comes one at a time, so tomorrow you can delete one more.

I'm having similar issue, but it doesn't seem as simple as 24 hours per char slot (max 3). I deleted 3 characters recently over a period of 2 days, all within 24 hours of each other, and the last was less than 24 hours ago. I should be able to do 1 (maybe 2) more by now, but my allowed delete remains at 0. Could it be that the counter only bumps up (+1) if it has been at least 24 hours since the most recent delete? Either way I'm realizing I should have whacked all 3 at once, and I'd be good by now.

yes, it's 24 hours from last deletion for 1 slot. then every 24 hours after that if no further deletions.

The counter will only go up 24h after the last deletion. It resets after each delete.

If you delete two characters at 1:00 am and then a third at 11:00 pm, then you will get your next deletion 24 hours later, i.e. at 11:00 pm the next day. If you don't touch any characters, you'll get a second at 11:00 pm the day after that. But if you delete another character at 5:00, then the next will not be available until 5:00 the next day.
