Why aren't deathmatch battle ground teams rotated after each round?

I mean, the teams are rarely even so rotating the teams after each round would at least add some balance.

How would it decide which team wins?

Sorry I meant have something similar to WoWs arena where the teams are rotated after each round. Remove the team aspect and make it an individual based, like WoWs arena. The teams are rotated after each round with the players picking up points for their contributions.

Playing the first round of deathmatch and not getting a single kill with all players being killed 3 times kinda makes a mockery of the second round. If a solo queued group is getting annihilated in the first round, then id put my wages on the fact they arent winning the second and third rounds. At least by changing the teams each round players have a better chance of contributing to the games rather than wasting everyones time.

    Hope my explanation makes sense.

I think that would be a pretty good idea and could fix most of the issues with at least solo queue DMs.

But that would require ZOS to actually think about fixes.

That's actually a solid idea. Sometimes you can just tell that you are going to get stomped in the second round as well and that's just a huge waste of time. If the teams get scrambled after every round, not only would that make the results more representive for the leaderboard, but it would also ensure that you can still have fun in round 2 and 3 after getting stomped in the first.

I think this is worth looking into as a separate mode, and depending on how that goes it could then either replace Deathmatch entirely for solo queue or stay as an additional Deathmatch variant.

    I like it!

    Thanks guys.

I honestly dont know who came up with the current format. I would love to see the stats on how many teams win round 2 when they have been beaten badly to a pulp in the first round.

I came back to the game recently and feel, except for the separation of premades and solo players, BGs have got worst.

Most of the games are a waste of time.

Do ZoS engage with the community? E.g have question and answer times etc?

Because their core business is selling chapters to single player TES fans, so they can be completely whimsical about PVP. I know there are individuals at ZOS who care deeply about PVP, but as a corporate entity, it has been unimportant to them.

Mods, this isn't bashing, it is how I see things after observing the development of the game for more than 10 years. Please don't ban me for my honest opinion.

Auto team balance is such a *basic* feature that has existed in other PVP games for ages. PVP players and devs recognized this issue in the 90s!! By the early 2000s most popular games had auto-balance mechs.

Back in 1998, the easiest way to kill a Quakeworld Teamfortress public server was to stack all the good players on one team and pubstomp. It was considered lame for clans to join the same team on a pub for the purpose of dominating. So tools were developed to autobalance.

ZOS needs to take a competitive approach to PVP and try to win players from other games instead of desperately trying to incentivize Skyrim casuals to play a game mode they just aren't interested in. By taking a competitive approach, they will naturally analyze their competitors and learn from them.

The thing about PVP is that for fights to be good, everyone has to be engaged and have their hearts in the fight. Half the problem with BGs is that most of the players are just going through the motions for rewards.

This is a good idea for 4v4 Solo. Most of my matches don't ever go 1-1 in Deathmatch with rounds, so it's usually whoever wins 1 round goes 2-0. On top of that, with the lives, it means whoever wins the first fight usually wins, as the other team is split up for the rest of the match with mismatched spawn timers.

Obviously, the group queues might not want to be split up so they can see how their composition does.
