Will the Molag Bal pet be needed for morphing in 2025?

Probably not, it changes every year after New Life is finish. The next pet is Stonewisp of Truth.

I doubt it also. If it were to be needed though, the fragments to make it will continue to be available. I morphed my little minibal into the house and, since I had the frags, I made another minibal pet. But I'm not going to replace the frags needed to make another.

Same. I got enough fragments to rebuild the minibal pet so I'd have the pet, but not going to buy any more fragments to make the pet again because we're likely never going to use them.

Eh, I made a mistake. I had skipped the body markings this year, but with so many tickets we get for New Life I decided to go ahead and work toward getting them just for completion’s sake so I started buying the pet fragments again even though I have a pet. Well, right after buying the pet fragments I realized the smarter thing to have done would have been to sell the unbound bolts of winter cloth instead of using them and buy bound ones instead. But now that I have fragments of the pet I have to completely finish getting the body markings because it would drive me crazy to just have those fragments still there. 🤪

You can only get enough fragments to make the base pet and all morphs (of any of these btw), and cannot purchase any more fragments once everything is collected. That totals up to all 4 morphs and 5 base pets.
    @Djennku, PCNA.

Grand Master crafter, all styles and all furnishing plans known pre U41.
Vamp and WW bites available for players.
Shoot me an in-game mail if you need anything, happy to help!

Although they change yearly, I'd appreciate it if their components were added to The Impresario's sidekick.

Sometimes it's not easy or possible to get enough tickets to buy the base item needed to morph everything throughout the year -AND- keep a copy of it as an actual pet, for those who like vanity pets — I returned to the game when Indriks season was almost out and as a result I'm STILL trying to get all of them <_<
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian, I've studied species Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian.

They've developed into a nice habit of waiting a year, then adding old event items into the sidekick vendor. So there's a reason to do the initial chase the year the event is on, but you can still use fragments and catch up a year later if there's something you want and missed.

Although quite why anybody wants most event ticket items, except maybe the house, is beyond me. Bad tattoos, gopping mounts, what the heck personalities with floating folded arms, and terrible costumes.

Are we allowed to discuss the new thing for next year or does that break some "discussing unreleased content" rule? Because I'd be interested in the flavour text of that item and its collectible parts.

It's already been on PTS, so it is completely fine to discuss.

The rule is about discussing unreleased information, not unreleased content. If something was mentioned in an official post/letter/article or is available on PTS, it should be fine. If it has only been found through datamining, it expressly falls afoul of the forum rule.

    Ah, okay.

I find it interesting that it's Julianos-themed. There had been different hints, during the last few years, on future content possibly taking place in Hammerfell, and we had an NPC in the latest chapter explicitly mentioning the School of Julianos in Abibon-Gora (which is both a philosopher's school as well as a temple) which is located at Hammerfell's North-Western coast. I know that the yearly event rewards weren't neccessarily always related to the year's content, but in this case, it would fit well.

As others have said, there will be a different morphable item in 2025.

However, if you haven't yet collected all of the things that the Molag Bal pet can be morphed into, you might want to go ahead and buy as many fragments as you can afford (for whatever you still need) right now, and then when the event rewards come back as old offerings in a few years you'll be that much further ahead to getting everything you're missing at that time.
