Performance after patch PS NA

I don’t know if it’s due to the patch or some other problem, but the amount of lag today is unbearable. I can click on things in the UI without delay but there is a 5-10 second delay in it responding. Doing daily crafting writs is an excruciating struggle so anything else today is impossible.

Other players are “teleporting” all over the place because of constant freezing and stuttering. Over the last week or so the performance in Cyrodiil has been the same freezing and stuttering but now PvE is unplayable.

I know someone is going to come on here and say it’s on my end, but others in zone chat are saying the same thing.

I guess I will be playing another game today.

@ZOS_Kevin mentioned that they have some ongoing malicious activity and had mitigation efforts in place that would be causing some performance impacts. Not sure if they are still active but this could explain some of that.

Now, that issue you're experiencing has been happening to some of us since May but if it only started for you since the recent patch.. it's possible it's not the same issue.

On console I can’t measure that but I have another way to tell how bad it is. When I return to Riften from doing crafting writs, I just ride up into the crafting area without dismounting. Usually the game automatically dismounts me after a few feet. Today I can ride nearly all the way across the length of the crafting building before being dismounted.

I'm not having any issues with doing daily crafting or endeavors. I had both my main tower and my laptop going at the same time with 2 accounts.
I don't know if you can do a repair on PS or XBox, if you can I would try that to see if it helps anything.
I also don't know if on console whether or not you can turn on Framerate and Latency, on PC it's: Settings/Interface/Performance. That will show your framerates and frame latency.
I'm not on console, so I can't really chime in on the PS or XBox issues. I have been in on both PC/NA and PC/EU. Things seemed like the normal lag over to EU also (roughly another 100-120ms). Currently my latency is showing as 60.

The real question is how many players will happily keep playing through an ever growing decrease in performance? When is enough enough? Will players keep playing if it comes down to turn based combat to battle DDoS attacks?

How many other games can you think of that had to purposely decrease performance to combat "bad actors?"

No, as far as I know we don’t have those options on console. We just have bare-bones interface.
